CBS’s 60 Minutes drew 21.3 million viewers for its Stormy Daniels episode on Sunday, up 111% from the week prior and the newsmag’s most-watched show since a 2008 interview with Barack and Michelle Obama that drew 25 million viewers. Tweeted/taunted Daniels’ lawyer, Michael Avenatti, “Since this is what really matters (LOL), the ratings for my client’s @stormydaniels appearance on @60minutes last night CRUSHED (BY MILLIONS) any Apprentice show in the last ten years as well as Mr. Trump’s Nov 2016 appearance. #priorities”.
 
The Federal Trade Commission is investigating Facebook’s privacy practices following reports that Cambridge Analytica collected personal data from over 50 million users of the social network without their consent. “The FTC takes very seriously recent press reports raising substantial concerns about the privacy practices of Facebook,” said Tom Pahl, acting director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, confirming the FTC has “an open non-public investigation into these practices.” Bring it on, said Rob Sherman, Facebook’s deputy chief privacy officer: “We remain strongly committed to protecting people’s information. We appreciate the opportunity to answer questions the FTC may have.”
 
Just because Bill O’Reilly was listed as executive producer on Legends and Lies, which returned to Fox News for season 3 on Sunday, doesn’t mean he’s back in the Fox fold. “Fox News has not resumed a working relationship with Bill O’Reilly,” said a spokesperson Monday, adding that the series had already been in production. The disgraced host left the net under a cloud of sexual harassment claims and settlements last April. While O’Reilly narrated the series for its first 2 seasons, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade is taking over this time around.
 
Olivia de Havilland’s lawsuit against FX Networks over her portrayal in Feud: Bette and Joan was dismissed. “Books, films, plays, and television shows often portray real people,” wrote the appeal court in a unanimous decision. “…Whether a person portrayed in one of these expressive works is a world-renowned film star – ‘a living legend’ – or a person no one knows, she or he does not own history. Nor does she or he have the legal right to control, dictate, approve, disapprove, or veto the creator’s portrayal of actual people.” De Havilland claimed Catherine Zeta-Jones’ portrayal of her damaged her professional reputation.

This partnership with Data Plus Math ties attention to outcomes while campaigns are in-flight. For products with longer sales cycles, such as automobiles, attention can be used as a leading indicator of campaign performance.”

Following an appearance on 60 Minutes during which she described being threatened in a Las Vegas parking lot in 2011 by a man who told her, “Leave Trump alone. Forget the story,” Stormy Daniels received a cease and desist letter from the lawyer for President Trump’s personal attorney. “[Michael] Cohen had absolutely nothing to do with any such person or incident,” said the letter. On Monday, Daniels amended her suit against Trump to allege that Cohen defamed her with his claims that she is lying about her relationship with Trump.

Viacom Inc. struck a strategic partnership with Day Zero Productions, an international production and distribution company led by The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah. Under the long-term deal, Viacom will have exclusive first look rights on all projects developed by Noah and Day Zero Productions in all media, including television, feature films, digital and short-form video content. Viacom will also make an investment in Day Zero.
 
Starz greenlit Now Apocalypse, created and exec produced by Gregg Araki (Kaboom). Coming-of-age comedy follows friends on quests for love, sex and fame.
 
Travel Channel issued a 52-episode order of Bizarre Food: Delicious Destinations, hosted by Andrew Zimmern. The series attracted more than 7.6 million total viewers last season and posted a 14% ratings gain among W25-54.

Paramount Network and filmmaker Derik Murray have joined forces for an original documentary on the life and legacy of   Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I Am MLK Jr. premieres on Paramount and Viacom sib BET on Wednesday, April 4 at 9p, featuring interviews with activists, influencers, writers and entertainers.
 
Lauren Alaina, Midland and Brett Young have been named new artist winners for the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards, and will perform on the show, airing Sunday, April 15 at 8p on CBS.

ID’s Murder Chose Me is back for season 2 on Wednesday, April 4 at 10p. First episode: “Bloodbath in the Bottoms.”
 
Tennis superstar Serena Williams will be the focus of 5-part docu-series Being Serena, premiering on HBO Wednesday, May 2 at 10p.
 
The Africa Channel will premiere its first animated kids programming on Saturday, April 7. Two episodes of Jabu’s Jungle at 7a will be followed by The Magic Cellar at 8a.

It was a good year for GSN, which reports it added over 16 million new viewers and had a 66% boost in social engagements on Facebook. And if it ain’t broke: Among Upfront announcements was GSN’s renewals of Snap Decision, Divided and Donald Faison-hosted Winsanity, along with short-form sweepstakes Game Show Network Daily Draw.
 
The net greenlit America Says (wt) and Caroline & Friends, hosted by Caroline Rhea (Sabrina the Teenage Witch). “GSN is the home for engaging game show programming that attracts high value consumers looking for a family environment filled with winning and fun,” said Fran Shea, executive vice president, programming and marketing for GSN. “Developing and producing new strip programming provides our loyal audience with a viewing destination they’ve come to expect and feel comfortable with, as GSN is an essential part of their daily routine.”

DIGITAL DATA
 
In a multi-year agreement, YouTube TV will become the NBA’s first “presenting partner” for the NBA Finals. “The Finals presented by YouTube TV” logo will appear during games, and YouTube TV will have a “major presence” across the NBA’s digital and social platforms. The NBA Finals, which start May 31 on ABC, will also air on YouTube TV, which carries ABC’s live broadcasts.
 
President Trump followed CNN on Twitter Monday morning, but not for long. He unfollowed the account less than an hour later, perhaps having followed in error. The 45th president has kept the number of people he follows to 45; CNN would have been 46.
 
Netflix is getting real with second season orders for 5 unscripted series: its Queer Eye reboot, Dope, Drug Lords, Nailed It! and The Toys That Made Us. The streamer also renewed comedy reboot One Day at a Time for season 3.
 
 
ADVERTISING
 
Excluding the Olympics, the total US national ad market grew by 8% in February 2018 compared to February 2017, reports Standard Media Index. Year-over-year advertising revenue in National TV grew +12.0%, with an even +12% growth in Cable and +12% growth in Broadcast; digital grew +18%. Among red-hot cable news nets, the cost for a 30-second spot rose +37% at MSNBC, +19% for CNN and +16% for Fox News.
 
In advance of the General Data Protection Regulation, taking effect May 25, GroupM is asking publishers to sign a new data protection contract calling for them to share control of their audience data with the agency group. “The GroupM Data Addendum was prepared for all GroupM suppliers processing personal data whether that personal data belonged to GroupM, its clients or the supplier in question,” said a statement from GroupM sent to Digiday. “The intention of the Data Addendum is to clearly signal the GroupM commitment to data privacy and to ask our suppliers to demonstrate the same commitment.”

FX is celebrating season 2 of Legion with an artistic video installation that allows fans to step inside a 360-degree micro-theater featuring a presentation by Marco Brambilla Studio. Inside, participants will find themselves inside the digital realm of Legion’s David Haller. Exhibit runs March 30-April 1 at Goya Studios Hollywood; new season of Legion gets started Tuesday, April 3 at 10p.
 
Ahead of American Idol’s “Hollywood Week,” on Sunday a helicopter took flight featuring 15-foot-tall cutouts of judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan and host Ryan Seacrest. ABC also partnered with Frontier Airlines to award passengers arriving at LAX “Golden Tickets to Hollywood,” mirroring the tickets contestants receive on the show.
 
 
GOING GLOBAL
 
The BBC commissioned Syco Entertainment and Thames to produce a new Saturday night dance talent show, The Greatest Dancer, executive produced by Nigel Hall and Amelia Brown.
 
TRT World documentary series Forgotten Children, which traces the PKK’s child recruitment network from Northern Iraq to Turkey, premieres  Wednesday, March 28. TRT World is Turkey’s first English broadcasting international news platform.

Among the films MGM Worldwide Television is packing for MIPTV are Creed II; Fighting With My Family, based on the life of WWE Superstar Paige ITM; and Nazi-themed Operation Finale, along with TV series Condor and TKO (wt).
