Both co-anchors will continue their current Dayside on-air duties until the fall. No word as of yet on what the new show will be called.

A&E’s premiere of the real-life series Driving Force Monday night gave the network its most watched series premiere since its 2004 premiere of Dog The Bounty Hunter. This first episode brought in nearly 1.2 million A18-49 and 1.1 million A25-54 viewers, with 1.8 million total viewers.
Through the joint partnership of Warner Bros. and AOL, In2TV En Español, a Spanish-language channel on In2TV, has just launched with content featuring more than two dozen classic TV series dubbed with Spanish language tracks. Some of the TV series offered include Wonder Woman and Perfect Strangers, and most of the series had only been available in their original English broadcast versions. Viewers can download In2TV’s library of former popular TV shows for free at aol.com/in2tv.
Evening broadcast network news numbers continue to be more competitive as the anchor turnover is now two-thirds complete since Charles Gibson took over at ABC World News Tonight in mid June. For the week of July 10-14, ABC tied NBC’s Nightly News in the key A25-54 demo, each posting a 2.1/9 rating. CBS delivered a 1.7/7. However, in total viewers, NBC was still on top with 8 million viewers over ABC’s 7.38 million and CBS’ 6.7 million total viewers. The real fun starts when the anchor turnover will be 100% in September and Couric sits in the CBS anchor chair.
AT&T Inc. and TV One have signed a distribution agreement to deliver TV One programming as part of the AT&T U-verse TV channel lineup. The network will offer lifestyle and entertainment original programming, classic series, movies, fashion and music primarily designed to reach adult African-American viewers. Financials were not disclosed.
ReelzChannel, which debuts on September 27 featuring content all about movies, has signed a new affiliation contract with Time Warner Cable, allowing the network to pursue carriage directly with Time Warner Cable systems.
Hoak Media will acquire the stations of North Dakota Television and South Dakota Television, giving Hoak a total of 12 stations in seven markets. The stations Hoak will purchase are KFYR/Bismarck and its satellite stations KQCD, KMOT and KUMV; KVLY/Fargo; as well as KSFY/Sioux Falls and its satellite stations KABY and KPRY. The transaction is pending regulatory approval. North Dakota Television and South Dakota Television LLCs are headed up by Robert Gluck, President and are affiliated with The Wicks Group of Companies, JPMorgan Partners and Halyard Capital.
Stacey Keibler, the lithe blonde beauty, former professional wrestler and finalist on ABC’s Dancin’ with the Stars last season, has signed a talent holding deal with Touchstone TV. The deal will cast Keibler either in an existing series, or will star in a pilot project for the studio.
NBC and Dick Wolf’s Law & Order: Criminal Intent has added Eric Bogosian as the new Captain of the Major Case Squad. Jamey Sheridan who played the role for the show’s first five seasons, left the series in May.
As the Walt Disney Co. announced the cutting of 650 jobs, it also announced a turnover in the Head of Production position at the Studio. After 8 years, Nina Jacobson is leaving, and stepping up is former Chief Creative Officer Oren Aviv. As far as the job cuts, they represents about 20% of the full studio staff, and will be divvied up between US staff and those abroad. In addition to the change at the top of the production, Disney has also named Mark Zoradi as President/Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, overseeing distribution and marketing. Filling Aviv’s shoes will be Jim Gallagher as head of marketing.
LIME has hired Jim Esposito as VP/Affiliates Sales Eastern Region and Sam Klosterman as VP/Affiliates Sales Western Region. Both will work together with the network’s various platforms to implement branding, mission and distribution priorities, and both will work to secure carriage agreements with Cable MSO’s and Satellite providers on either coast.
Gary Holmes has been appointed VP/Global Communications and CPO for Nielsen Media Research and VNU’s Media Measurement and Information Group. He will manage all press relations and written communications within the Communications Department, while reporting to Karen Watson, SVP/Communications.
NBC Universal Cable has promoted Gena Nason to Director/Marketing, On Demand and Meredith Shea to Associate Manager/Field Marketing and Affiliate Ad Sales. Gena oversees marketing for on demand events and manages consumer and trade media plans among other duties. Meredith continues to oversee the North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho and Wyoming territories for the company.
Oxygen announced an expansion in its affiliate sales division: Carla Lewis-Long has been hired as VP/National Accounts to develop and implement the network’s affiliate sales and marketing strategies for key national accounts; Ellie Reese has been upped to VP/Interactive Media Distribution to oversee the development of a broadband and multi-platform strategy for Oxygen’s affiliate partners; and Tricia Hulse has been elevated to VP/National Accounts where she will maintain Oxygen’s affiliate sales and marketing efforts for the network’s clients on the West Coast. All three executives will report to Mary G. Murano, EVP/Affiliate Sales.
Sianne Garlick has joined Goodman Media International as Account Manager. Previously, she was an Associate Producer at CBS News for 60 Minutes since 1998.
SOAPnet has advanced Dan Osti to VP/Network Services and Scheduling. He will continue to manage commercial traffic and inventory departments among his other functions, reporting to Claire Zrimc, SVP/Program Planning, Scheduling and Acquisitions.
Cima Entertainment Marketing will merge with the non-traditional marketing company, Channel M, and its founder, Ric Flores will also join Channel M as SVP.
Joseph Kapsch has joined the Los Angels Times as Senior Producer for the paper’s awards show industry site The Envelope.com, reporting to Scott Robson/Executive Producer and Joel Sappell, Executive Editor/Latimes.com.

The History Channel presents This Day in History:
1799 – Near the town of Rosetta, a soldier on Napoleon Bonaparte’s Egyptian campaign finds a black basalt slab inscribed with ancient writing in Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphics, and Egyptian demotic. Because the same text was written in each of the three scripts, the Rosetta Stone became the key that unlocked the meaning of hieroglyphics.
