~ MORE GOOD STUFF ~

The CW Network announced its new official Sunday evening schedule starting November 30: first season episodes of Everybody Hates Chris at 5p and The Game at 530p; two second season back-to-back episodes of The Drew Carey Show from 6-7p; first season episodes of Jericho at 7p; and MGM movies at 8p. Film titles from MGM include The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course on November 30 as well as Spaceballs, Carrie, Throw Momma From the Train, Mr. Mom and many others.

Not everyone is reupping their show agreements on Fox News Channel. Alan Colmes, the liberal co-host of Hannity & Colmes for 12 years will exit the show at the end of 2008. Colmes said in a statement he wants to “develop new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network.” He will continue to be a left-leaning commentator for Fox News and host his Fox radio show. The network has not announced Colmes’ replacement to sit opposite Sean Hannity.

According to Nielsen’s A2/M2 Three Screen Report, consumers continue to increase usage on the three screens of TV, internet and mobile. Based on third quarter 2008 findings, the average U.S. viewer watched nearly 142.29 hours of TV a month (up from 140.39 hours in 2Q08); online usage increased to 27.18 hours a month (up from 26.32 hours in 2Q08); and mobile users spent 3.37 hours per month (up from 3.15 hours in 2Q08). The report also documented people are watching more time-shifted television at 6.32 hours in 3Q08 compared to 6.10 hours in 2Q08 and more are watching video via internet at 2.31 hours in 3Q08 versus 2.12 hours in 2Q08. In addition, comparing 3Q08 to 3Q07, consumers are watching 5 more hours of television per month and during the 2007-08 television season the average household watched 8.18 hours per day – a record high since Nielsen began measuring usage in the 1950s.

Millennium Sales & Marketing, a unit of the Katz Television Group is now representing Peachtree TV/WPCH-TV in Atlanta, an independent station owned and operated by Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.

DISH Network Corporation and Rentrack Corporation formed a relationship where Rentrack will report the measurement from millions of DISH Network set-top boxes offering click-stream television data. Rentrack’s TV Essentials product will measure anonymous viewer information including second-by-second television programming and advertising data. DISH Network’s goal in partnering with Rentrack is to increase its data on subscriber viewing preferences. TV Essentials will also measure DISH Network’s DVR and iTV services.

Clarification: In yesterday’s edition, we updated readers on the looming potential strike by SAG members. We incorrectly stated it would take 75% of SAG’s 120,000 voting members to agree a strike is necessary. According to a source on the inside, a vote to authorize a strike would only need a 75% majority of those members who actually vote on the strike issue.

The series will follow Seagal as he works as a fully-commissioned deputy with the Jefferson Parish County Sheriff’s Office. A&E will roll out the new show late next year.

NO GOOD TV, producer of uncensored celebrity news and entertainment information for the web, introduces NO GOOD Productions, a new television production unit. NO GOOD Productions’ inaugural project is the original eight-episode series VH1 Classic One Hit Wonders produced for VH1 Classic network and premiering December 1 at 9p.

here!, the premium gay and lesbian TV network will debut a new anthology series next year called here! Center Stage where each episode adapts a classic theatrical play for the small screen. The series opens with The Awakening of Spring written by Arthur Allan Seidelman and based on the 1891 play Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind. The television series will echo a theatre stage format, using minimal props and sets.

And getting in a handful of Casting Calls before the holiday weekend, Twinstalent announces three diverse reality show opportunities looking for participants:

CYNOPSIS DIGITAL – TODAY’S TOP STORY: Online video network Blip.tv added support for the iPhone enabling users to view blip videos directly from their phones. Blip.tv’s new embed code now allows show creators to utilize the same embeddable player code they use for delivering videos to desktop PCs. This opens up the hottest new video platform for independent producers who go reach beyond bite size clips. Outside of Apple’s integration with YouTube, distributing web video shows to the iPhone has been impossible because the platform still doesn’t support Adobe’s Flash format.   Full edition: CYN DIGITAL.

CYNOPSIS KIDS – TODAY’S TOP STORY:  The Mottola Company, headed by Tommy Mottola, enters into a partnership with Every Baby Company, creators of the infant/toddler-targeted property eebee’s Adventures, which includes a VOD series, and DVD, book, and toy lines.  Under the agreement The Mottola Company makes an equity investment in Every Baby Company and supports the ongoing development, marketing and creativity aimed at growing Every Baby Company and eebee’s Adventures brand (www.eebee.com ).  Every Baby Company co-founders, Stephen Gass and Don Burton, will continue to manage and run the company, with The Mottola Company taking an active role in expanding the brand into new categories and channels of distribution, as well as naming new members to the Every Baby Company board.  Additionally, The Mottola Company is providing the services of Latin performer Thalia, who will be feature in the Spanish-language version of Las Aventuras de eebee, which will be available on DVD, cable and VOD.  Full edition: CYN KIDS.

CYNOPSIS INTERNATIONAL – TODAY’S TOP STORY:  Following the bad combination of a rather large miss on budget marks and declining advertising revenues, Austria’s ORF (Osterreichischer Rundfunk) public broadcaster is reportedly contemplating a partial privatization.  The shortfall came in at 100 million euros (about $127 million).  The group operates 4 TV networks and a group of radio channels that also stream online.  The broadcaster is already trying to cut costs connected to certain sports rights, Eurovision, wages, jobs and more in an effort to save close to $85 million euros in 2009.  The possibility of asset sales still exists with Raiffeisen Bank as one of the possible interested parties.  Other suggestions regarding a fully ad supported ORF 1 and a licensing fee and ad supported ORF2 were floated around.  Full edition: CYN INTERNATIONAL.
