Good news for families with gluten allergies, Chuck E. Cheese’s tries out gluten-free options for its menu. Under its pilot program, the family entertainment restaurant will begin testing a gluten-free pizza and chocolate cupcake at its Minnesota locations to assess demand and see how it plays before a future national rollout. To avoid contamination with gluten products at Chuck E. Cheese’s restaurants, the personal cheese pizza and chocolate fudge cupcakes, are being created elsewhere and delivered in pre-sealed containers to the restaurants, the pizza’s container is a pre-sealed bake-in-bag. The pizzas are being manufactured by USDA/FDA-approved, gluten-free facility Conte’s Pasta (www.contespasta.com) and the cupcakes at Fabe’s All-Natural Bakery (www.fabesnatural.com).
