Cynopsis: Kids!
05/25/10
Good morning. It’s Tuesday, May 25, 2010, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing.
Little Light Foundation’s, Little Airplane Productions‘ newly established non-profit arm, new preschool-targeted The Olive Branch (26×1), a hand-drawn animated series that focuses on peace, tolerance and mutual respect, is set to premiere on Nick Jr. in the US on June 1, 2010. The first three episodes of the short-form non-verbal series will air exclusively for six months on Nick Jr., and on a non-exclusive basis on 100+ Nickelodeon networks worldwide. In addition, KidsCo has signed on to run all 26 episodes on its channel worldwide. In an effort to bring the program to all kids around the world, Little Airplane is making the series available to broadcasters around the world for one unit of their own currency per episode. Written and directed by Little Airplane founder Josh Selig, Olive Branch is drawn by Pablo Smith (The Wonder Pets!, 3rd Bird) and features music composed by J. Walter Hawkes. The Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation is a consultant on the series. The Olive Branch is endorsed by the Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the Simon Wiesenthal Center and UNICEF. Broadcasters are invited to make tax-deductible contributions to Little Light Foundation to help cover production costs on Olive Branch. Additionally, individuals, corporations and foundations can also contribute and/or participate in the development of an episode of the project.
