Good Morning. It’s Tuesday, May 23, 2006, and this is your first early morning briefing.

ABC will premiere five new reality series this summer, and for four of them, it’s not being too specific on the air date just yet:
     How to Get the Guy – Premieres June 12, follows four young, available women living in San Francisco who are searching for Mr. Right with the help of two love coaches. From Scout Productions. 

     Buy It Now – Premiere date TBD, airing twice a week, this reality series will help families make their dream come true, but to achieve that they must auction off some of their most sentimental items on eBay. Produced by Flody Suarez, Jay Blumenfield & Tony Marsh and Tom Mazza, Jak Severson & Danica Krislovich. 

     Master of Champions – Premiere date TBD, each week six competitors battle to win the title of Master Champion in a variety of unusual challenges and stunts. Executive producers are Jonas Larsen and Anthony Ross for Y27 Entertainment. 

     One Ocean View – Premiere date TBD, young professionals escape hot New York City on weekends and head for a shared beach house with everything from romance to fun flings. Produced by Bunim-Murray Productions with Jonathan Murray and Joey Carson as Executive Producers. 

     The One: Making a Music Star – Premiere date TBD, aspiring singers will attend a professional music academy, then perform live for viewers who will vote to retain their favorites in the competition. The final winner will receive a recording contract from a major record company. Produced by Endemol USA.

The CBS Corporation has reached an agreement to sell its Paramount Parks division, which includes seven family theme parks around the country, to Cedar Fair, L.P. for $1.24 billion in cash. There are some regulatory and other approvals that must be met, and the deal is expected to be final this third quarter.
 
Things are heating up at the Food Network this summer as it debuts two new series. Road Tested premieres July 11 at 10p, hosted by Paula Deen’s sons, Bobby and Jaime Deen. The guys take to the highways and byways of America in a convertible to find the best local, homemade foods. The second show also stars a Bobby – Chef Bobby Flay in Throwdown with Bobby Flay debuting on July 13 at 10p. Traveling around the country, Flay will seek out the best award-winning amateur cooks in a variety of categories – BBQ, wedding cakes, chili and more – and challenge these cooks to a surprise cook-off.

The Biography Channel presents a new series Psychic Investigators this summer featuring true-life crimes that happened in both the U.S. and Great Britain and solved by detectives with a paranormal bent. Two back-to-back episodes premiere on June 1; the first about the murder of Amie Hoffman and the second about the disappearance of Lynsey Quy. Each Thursday in June, the network will premiere two new episodes.
 
Looking for a December air date, Sony Pictures TV will bring to ABC the story of Raisin in the Sun, featuring the 2004 Broadway cast which includes Sean Combs, Phylicia Rashad and Audra McDonald. According to Variety, the film will be produced by Storyline Entertainment and Bad Boy Worldwide Ent Group. When this story was first produced for both the stage and film in 1959, based on a book by Lorraine Hansberry, it was cast with Sidney Poitier, Ruby Dee and Louis Gossett Jr.

Viewers can get a sneak peek at the new season of Bravo’s Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List tomorrow exclusively on Yahoo!. In addition, fans of Kathy can help get her off the D-list and on to the A-list by voting online at offthelist.com and through a toll free number (1-888-kathydlist). So far, 100,000 voters have entreated Kathy to do one of the following to get herself off the D-list: join Scientology (18%); adopt a baby in Namibia (21%); give Ryan Seacrest a manicure/pedicure (22%); and the majority want her to spend quality time with Dame Judi Dench and release a sex tape (38%). The first episode of the new season premieres June 6 at 9p.

Univision Communications has asked potential buyers to submit a formal offer by June 8, according to Reuters.  The high profile groups looking to bid at this point include Grupo Televisa, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., Bain Capital, Blackstone Group, Carlyle Group and Cascade as well as a second consortium of Madison Dearborn Partners, Providence Equity Partners, Texas Pacific Group, Thomas H. Lee Partners and Haim Saban.
