GSN is betting on High Stakes Poker as it premieres season three on January 15 at 9p. Staged at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, HSP 3 welcomes 14 new players as they play no limit Texas hold ’em. This new series will document the real-life stories of celebrity foul play, untimely death or broken relationships and dreams in addition to those who overcame roadblocks to rejuvenate their careers. The eight episodes will explore the lives of Niki and Krissy Taylor, Chris Penn, Leif Garrett among others.

FX has also picked up another season of 30 Days, the Morgan Spurlock documentary series where a person spends a full month in an environment completely foreign to him/her. FX has ordered an additional 6 episodes.

It will be Prince performing during the Pepsi Super Bowl XLI Halftime Show.  The Super Bowl and halftime show will air on CBS live from Dolphin Stadium in Florida on Sunday, February 4. An NFL sponsor for five seasons, this will be the first time that Pepsi will serve as the sponsor for the Super Bowl halftime show.  Don Misher Productions and White Cherry Entertainment will produce the Super Bowl halftime show under their agreement with the NFL.  The two companies will also produce the Super Bowl XLI pre-game show.

MTV Networks and BET Networks have renewed their carriage agreement with Time Warner Cable. * BROADBAND & DIGITAL *

Oxygen has made a deal with On Command Video Corporation to provide many of its original series via VOD for hotels across America starting this month. On Command provides hotel in-room entertainment and information services to many major hotel chains including Hilton Hotels Corporation, Intercontinental Hotels Group, and Marriott. Shows on the Oxygen menu include Monique’s F.A.T. Change, Talk Sex with Sue Johanson, Campus Ladies and Real Weddings From The Knot from the comfort of their hotel rooms.

* PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT *

Of course, I am entirely too young to have a full appreciation for the original Philip Marlowe, Private Eye movies as originated on the big screen by Humphrey Bogart, or for Robert Mitchum’s rendition.  I do seem to recall the James Garner approach to Marlowe, and the Powers Booth 1980’s version on HBO.  Well, it’s about to get more modern again, as ABC works with producer Sean Bailey and his LivePlanet banner, and Touchstone TV, to bring Marlowe back to television. Per Variety, ABC has ordered a script.

ABC is also looking at another project called Inside, about an undercover female cop, from creator Allison Cross, with Touchstone TV.

And yet another ABC project – this one untitled but it’s about group of dysfunction, yet loveable, CEOs, and their lives in and out of the board room. ABC has ordered a pilot.  The project is from Jon Feldman and warner Bros. TV.

Fox has ordered a pilot of a project called New Amsterdam about a NYC detective who is actually is wicked old – we’re talking hundreds of years old. The project is from Regency TV and Scarlet Fire Films.

A second Fox project has gotten the pilot nod – referred to only as the untitled NSA project, about a normal middle of the road guy who works at a large plant, when he is dragged into the world of espionage by the NSA, and is forced to spy on his boss.  The project is from Real Time Prods, and 20th Century Fox TV.

In her new role, based in New York City, Eileen will be exec producer for the 2007 GLAAD Media Awards, reality series Be Real, Rick and Steve and the recently announced comedy series Exes and Ohs. Assuming Eileen’s day-to-day responsibilities as head of original programming at Logo is Dave Mace, VP/Original Programming.  Splitting his time between New York and LA, Dave will oversee development and production of Logo’s original programming, reporting to both Brian Graden, President/Entertainment, MTV Networks Music Group, and President/Logo, and Lisa Sherman, SVP and GM/Logo.

The History Channel presents This Day in History:
1913-Two years after it was stolen from the Louvre Museum in Paris, Leonardo Da Vinci’s masterpiece The Mona Lisa is recovered inside Italian waiter Vincenzo Peruggia’s hotel room in Florence.  Peruggia had previously worked at the Louvre and had participated in the heist with a group of accomplices dressed as Louvre janitors on the morning of August 21, 1911.

Answer to Yesterday’s Trivia Question: The name of this show happened to be the secret radio code name used for this special type of transportation two California cops would use to “watch over” and stop crime during the 70’s.  What 70’s show was this?   “WATCH OVER”  BEING KEY, THE SHOW WAS CHOPPER ONE!     Kudos to, OUCH, nobody!  We’ll try another from the earlier days!
