Good morning. It’s Thursday, September 15, 2011, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing.
Amid a flurry of speculation about the possible sale of Peppa Pig owner Entertainment One to any number of suitors, the company’s Board issued a release stating, “it is considering its strategic options, which may include a sale of the Company in response to interest it has received from various parties.” Furthermore, the Canada-based Entertainment One has appointed J.P. Morgan and Credit Suisse to coordinate the review for the board. There is no confirmation that an offer to purchase the company will actually be made. In addition to owning the preschool property Peppa Pig, Entertainment One holds the distribution rights for the Twilight Saga movies for the UK and Canada. The company has a distribution rights library that includes 20,000+ film and TV titles, 2,500 hours of TV programming and 45,000 music tracks.
