10/18/12

Good morning. It’s Thursday, October 18, 2012, and this is your first early morning briefing.

CBeebies (UK) commissions kid-centric indie TV production company Darrall Macqueen (Baby Jake, Bear Behaving Badly, Smile, among others) to produce the new preschool drama, Topsy and Tim (60×11) as a co-production with Penguin. Based on the bestselling books by authors Jean and Gareth Adamson, which originally debuted in the 1960s, the titles are still published to day by Ladybird, an imprint of Penguin Children’s in the UK. Topsy and Tim will be filmed from the point-of-view of 5-year-old twins as they make their first steps towards independence and various daily family life experiences, everything from a washing the car to finding a lost pet, as well as dealing with life events like moving houses. The series also aims to bolster kid viewer’s personal, social and emotional development as they identify with and learn from the twins’ experiences. Topsy and Tim is produced by Fiona Robinson and executive produced by Maddy Darrall and Billy Macqueen for Darrall Macqueen and Michael Towner for CBeebies
