The all important search marketplace continues to evolve as Facebook and Microsoft unveiled a new Search partnership that will see Bing power personalized searches on the social networking site, including details about your friends and what they like. When you search for something on Bing or in web results on Facebook (powered by Bing), you’ll be able to see your friends’ smiling faces next to web pages they’ve liked. Also, a new Instant Personalization feature will pull up reviews your friends place on Rotten Tomatoes, Pandora, Yelp or Scrib’d. The opt-outable integration could prove to be a huge boost for Bing, which has flatlined in recent months in terms of market share. Bing accounted for 11.2% of all U.S. searches in Sept., according to ComScore, compared to over 66% for Google. ~ INNOVATORS & START-UPS ~
