~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

A first-look production deal was forged between NBC and America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon and his production company, NCredible Entertainment.  Cannon and his business partner Michael Goldman will develop both scripted and unscripted projects for the network.  The deal also has Cannon remaining as host of America’s Got Talent when the show returns next summer.

AMC has approved a new unscripted series Owner’s Manual ordering eight, half-hour episodes set to premiere in third quarter 2013.  Owner’s Manual, produced by Asylum Entertainment (The Kennedys, Addicted, The Locator) will test one of the most common divides – those who read owner’s manuals and those who don’t.  Ed Sanders and Marcus Hunt will represent each side and are put to test in weekly challenges where they attempt to operate today’s most advanced, dangerous and powerful machinery and technology including a fighter jet to a submarine and more.  One man will work strictly from the owner’s manual while the other uses only his instincts.  Executive producers on the project include Steve Michaels, Jonathan Koch, Alex Piper and Jerry McNutt.

Military Channel has commissioned a new series titled Ultimate Warfare from Arrow Media slated to premiere in first quarter 2013.  The 10-episode, one-hour series will highlight the greatest military battles from World War II to the present day.  Each episode will relate a compelling story filled with tension, grit and bravery taking the viewer into dramatic reconstructions with a unique POV from the soldiers themselves.  The filming style is described as similar to user-generated content from mobile phones, camcorders and body-cams.

Production is underway on ABC Family’s drama series pilot Terminales starring Italia Ricci, Mary Page Keller, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Aisha Dee, Richard Brancastisana, Abhi Sinha, Haley Ramm and guest stars 7th Heaven’s Barry Watson and Wings’ Rebecca Schull.  Lionsgate and Televisa USA are producing the one-hour English language pilot about 20-something April (Ricci), a smart aspiring journalist who is trying to work her way up the ladder at a Boston newspaper by impressing her editor, Lawrence (Curtis-Hall).  Terminales is based on Televisa’s hit Mexican drama of the same name and was written by Susanna Fogel and Joni Lefkowitz.  Aaron Kaplan, Fogel and Lefkowitz are all EPs.
