Cynopsis: Kids!
10/15/12

Good morning. It’s Monday, October 15, 2012, and this is your first early morning briefing.

Harry Potter creator/author J.K. Rowling reveals during a Scholastic (the US publisher of the Harry Potter books) hosted live global webcast that her next book will likely be for young readers. The webcast also marked the launch of Scholastic’s Harry Potter Reading Club (www.scholastic.com/hpread), a new online destination designed to introduce the world of Harry Potter with new readers and provide teachers/parents/librarians etc. with tools to set up their own Harry Potter Reading Club, including discussion guides for each book. Scholastic will add new themed activities each month to complement the Reading Club discussions that will frequently relate to experiences on the Pottermore (www.pottermore.com) website. Oh  and in case you were interested  Rowling, who is registered on Pottermore, says she was sorted into Gryffindor House, but added that she “personally would not be at all disappointed to be sorted into Hufflepuff” and went on to explain why. An interesting fact, if you are an HP fan that is. How many of you know a fan (any age) that was unhappy to find they were sorted to Hufflepuff? A full replay of the live webcast can be viewed at www.scholastic.com/hpreadingclub.
