3/05/07

Good Morning, it’s Monday, March 5, 2007 and this is your first early morning briefing.

Joining ABC’s Dancing with the Stars will be veteran TV star John Ratzenberger. After The Sopranos star Vincent Pastore’s withdrawal from the show, Ratzenberger will step in to take his place. Ratzenberger was originally asked to participate this season by the show’s producers, but had a conflict with his schedule until now. He will also have the disadvantage of only two weeks of rehearsals, where his competitors have four, before the series premieres on March 19 with a two-hour special at 8p.

Tonight’s Finale:
CBS:  The Class at 830p

~ MORE GOOD STUFF ~

SOAPnet has renewed I Wanna Be A Soap Star for a fourth run premiering in August, with host Cameron Mathison of ABC’s All My Children. Production begins in May and casting for the 10 episodes will occur in Miami on March 17; in New York on March 24 and in Los Angeles on March 31. This time, viewers will have a say in choosing the winner before the live season finale. The winner gets a role on NBC’s Days of Our Lives. The reality series is produced by LMNO Cable Group for SOAPnet.

The fifth season finale of USA’s Nashville Star (March 1 at 10p) lassoed in 1.4 million A25-54 viewers, 1.4 million A18-49 viewers and 3.0 million total viewers.

The national Spanish-language television network V-me launches this afternoon at 130p. The 24-hour digital broadcast service presented by public television stations and carried on basic digital cable and satellite, launches in 28 million homes and with over 60% of all U.S. Hispanic households.  V-me’s programming is organized into four areas, kids, lifestyle, factual, and movies and specials.  V-me is the first venture announced by the newly-formed media production and distribution company, V-me Media Inc.
