WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, runner up to Mark Zuckerberg in Time‘s Person of the Year balloting, gave a series of interviews in an attempt to whip up public support after being freed on bail in London, where he is fighting extradition to Sweden on nonconsensual intercourse charges. Mr. Assange promised to divulge more secrets, denounced the charges as politically motivated, and expressed concerns that an arrest in Sweden might lead to eventual extradition to the U.S. “This is not the beginning of the end, but the end of the beginning,” he told NBC of his legal and political travails. Meanwhile US Vice-President Joe Biden, went on NBC’s Meet the Press to liken the WikiLeaks founder to a “high-tech terrorist”, the strongest criticism yet from the Obama administration.
