In other HBO production news, the premium cable network also ordered to pilot a comedy about three gay friends living in San Francisco.  The untitled project is from David Marshall Grant (Brothers and Sisters) and Sarah Condon (Bored to Death) and is about the 30-something threesome who are dealing with life’s challenges and the modern gay experience.  Michael Lannan is set to write the script with Grant supervising.  Andrew Haigh will oversee the pilot which is based on Lannan’s feature script Lorimer.

Universal Cable Productions has signed creators, EPs and writing partners Matt Corman and Chris Ord, behind USA Network’s Covert Affairs, to their first-ever overall deal.  The duo will continue to be the creative team on Covert Affairs which stars Piper Perabo.  Corman and Ord will additionally develop series for both cable and broadcast networks working closely with UCP’s development team comprised of SVPs/Development and Current Programming, Richard Rothstein and Maira Suro and VP Tom Lieber.
