Cynopsis: Kids!
08/29/11
Good morning. It’s Monday, August 29, 2011, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing.
MarVista Entertainment has completed principle photography in Vancouver on the new Disney Channel TV movie Radio Rebel, which is set to premiere on Disney Channel (US) and YTV (Canada) in early 2012, and on Disney Channels around the world thereafter. A co-production with Two 4 the Money Media, Radio Rebel is based on author Danielle Joseph’s young adult novel Shrinking Violet, which revolves around Tara, a shy teen and the alter ego she creates on podcasts from her bedroom giving voice to voice to a range of kids at school. When her podcasts become hugely popular at school everyone wants to know who the host really is, including the principle (who wants the host expelled). Directed by Peter Howitt (Sliding Doors, Johnny English) from a script written by Erik Patterson and Jessica Scott (Another CinderellaStory, The Haunting Hour), Radio Rebel stars Debby Ryan (Jessie, Suite Life on Deck, 16 Wishes), Serena Parmar (Degrassi), Adam DiMarco (Kiss at Pine Lake, Do Something With Your Life), Atticus Mitchell (My Babysitter’s A Vampire) and Merritt Patterson (Kyle XY). This is MarVista’s second production for Disney Channel; the first was the TV movie 16 Wishes.

Disney Channel premiered the new TV movie Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension on August 5, 2011, which now serves as the top cable TV movie for the year-to-date with Total Viewers (7.6 million).
