Another Stephen King novel could be coming to TV. It’s been reported that J.J. Abrams Bad Robot production company and Warner Bros. are in talks to adapt King‘s bestseller 11/22/63 into a TV series or miniseries. The story centers on a teacher who travels back in time to five years before John F. Kennedy’s assassination and goes on a mission to prevent it.

ABC Family is launching a Baby Daddy marathon. On Monday, May 27 viewers can catch up on all ten episodes of the show’s first season, airing in order from 2 to 7p. The second season of Baby Daddy premieres Wednesday, May 29 at 8:30p. Baby Daddy launched as #1 comedy series in ABC Family’s history.

REELZ has acquired the new media entertainment series EP Daily to premiere Monday, April 29. EP Daily features behind-the-scenes interviews and reviews for the latest movies, TV shows, video games, gadgets, apps, stories about trends in social media and technology, as well as human interest and lifestyle segments. New episodes will air weekdays at 8 and 2:30a and Saturday and Sunday at 2:30a. The REELZ launch coincides with EP Daily’s week-long Iron Man 3 coverage, featuring exclusive behind-the- scenes footage from the film and interviews with stars Robert Downey, Jr. and Don Cheadle. EP Dailyis executive produced by host Victor Lucas and Emmy Award winning Greedy Productions.

Major news for Trekkie fans: Roddenberry Entertainment has partnered with Nexus Media Group to officially launch, a one-stop destination for all things Star Trek. Inspired by the registry number of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), 1701News will offer breaking news and social space; plus, regular columns from fan favorites, videos and pictures, interviews, and a reader-interactive section on Star Trek conventions. Roddenberry Entertainment will also collaborate with Nexus Media Group to provide access to proprietary archives, interviews and other Trek scintilla. PromaxBDA, the leading global association for marketing, promotion and design professionals working in the entertainment industry, has announced that Academy Award winning producer Brian Grazer will be the recipient of its PromaxBDA Lifetime Achievement Award at The Conference 2013, June 18-20 in Los Angeles. The award will be presented by Piers Morgan. Grazer has been nominated for four Academy Awards and, in 2002, won the Best Picture Oscar for A Beautiful Mind.

Two and A Half Men has been renewed by CBS for an 11th season. Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher are both set to return for the 2013-2014 season. Angus T. Jones, who will attend college this fall, will not be back a regular cast member. However, he may recur on the series.

NBC has ordered new seasons for five dramas. Revolution, Chicago Fire, Parenthood, Grimm and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will all be back for 2013-2014. Each show has received 22-episode orders.

The CW has given advance orders for two of its series. Beauty and the Beast has been renewed for a second season, while Hart of Dixie has been renewed for a third season.

There will be sophomore seasons for two Comedy Central series. The network has renewed The Jeselnik Offensive and Nathan for You, ordering 10 more episodes of each show. The Jeselnik Offensive will begin airing new episodes in July. Nathan for You will return in 2014.

The CW has ordered its first new series for next season. The network is proceeding with The Originals, the highly anticipated spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. The show was introduced during The Vampire Diaries episode that aired on Thursday, April 25.

CBS has greenlit a new game show pilot. Money Pump, a high-pressure competition in which contestants battle against an enormous money pump for $1 million, will be hosted by
Kevin Frazier, from omg! Insider. The show is being produced by ITV Studios America, with Andrew Golder as the executive producer.

Weingrad Casting is looking for teen hip hop stars (10-19 years) and their moms in Los Angeles and Atlanta for a new docu-series. The show will follow mothers and their kids as they pursue their child’s cream of becoming a hip hop star or, if they are already signed, as they begin recording and prepare to tour. In addition, Weingrad is seeking young married teens or teens getting married for a cable network show. FX has cast Corey Stoll (House of Cards) as the lead in its drama pilot The Strain. Based on the best-selling vampire novel trilogy from Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hoganhe, the one-hour thriller centers on Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll) and his team, who are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. FX Productions will produce the project.


CBS Studios International has sold the African format rights for America’s Next Top Model to LuLu Productions, which will work with Never Machine Productions to produce the reality competition series. The show, which will be shot primarily in South Africa, will be hosted by Nigerian supermodel Oluchi Orlandi, who’ll also serve as its executive producer. The series will air pan-regionally in Africa on the MNET Africa Magic channels in 2013.

Thursday A18-49 Analysis:  CBS came out on top with the A18-49 viewers Thursday at 2.9/9, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. CBS’ The Big Bang Theory led from 8 to 8:30p at 4.5/15, followed by FOX’s American Idol at 2.6/9. At 8:30p the two networks switched positions. FOX’s American Idol took the top spot at 2.9/9, while CBS’ Two and a Half Men came in second at 2.8/9. ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy led the pack at 9p at 2.7/8. CBS’ Person of Interest followed at 2.4/7. ABC continued in the #1 spot at 10p with Scandal at 2.8/8. CBS’ Elementary trailed at 2.0/6.

Fred Amoroso has announced his resignation as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yahoo! He will continue to serve on the board until the shareholders meeting on June 25, at which point Maynard Webb Jr. has been selected to serve as interim chairman.

Sandy Cannold has been named Executive Producer and Senior Business Editor of ABC News. A 13 year veteran of CNBC, Cannold will oversee business and economics specialists, including GMA Weekend Anchor Bianna Golodryga, Linzie Janis, Zunaira Zaki and Rebecca Jarvis. Robin Sproul, who just celebrated her 20 year anniversary as Washington Bureau Chief, will expand her role to serve as Executive in Charge of This Week. Sara Just, who has held senior roles at Nightline, GMA and Digital, will become the Deputy Bureau Chief in Washington.

BabyFirst, which is completing its transition from a subscription-based service to a basic cable network, has appointed Matt Gentile to the newly-created position of Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales and Sponsorships. Gentile previously served as Vice President Advertising Sales for Comcast/NBCU, where he represented major network brands including Sprout, E! and Style.
