Cynopsis: Kids!
09/21/12
Good morning. It’s Friday, September 21, 2012, and this is your first early morning briefing.
Belgium’s Studio 100 (Maya the Bee, Vicky the Viking, Heidi) and NY-based Little Airplane Productions (The Wonder Pets, Small Potatoes) are partnering to develop and co-produce a new preschool-targeted 2D animated series based on the puppet TV series Bumba, which is popular in the Benelux. Executive produced by Josh Selig and produced by his Little Airplane Productions at its New York studio, the new Bumba (52×11) series will be redesigned for an international audience and will focus on a curriculum that supports the development of preschooler problem solving skills. The non-verbal series follows a lovable clown and his circus, with each episode exploring a different theme, including vehicles, music, seasons, or exercise with educational content built in to correspond to the theme. As with all of Little Airplane’s projects, Bumba will feature an original music score. In the tradition of the European Circus, Bumba will be told through action and movement, with music and sound effects.
