Cynopsis: Kids!
10/08/10

Good morning. It’s Friday, October 8, 2010, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing.

Cartoon Network welcomes new partners for its pro-social Stop Bullying: Speak Up ( www.stopbullyingspeakup.com) multiplatform initiative, which the network has been working for the last 18-months and launched just this week in conjunction with National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.  New partners include Turner and Time Warner networks, their digital businesses and NCM Media Networks.   Debuting this week are the initial set of public service announcements (PSAs) featuring Cartoon Network talent and running on the network and its website, as well as on Time Warner’s TNT and TBS television networks, CWTV.com ( www.cwtv.com ) and the CW social media networks, CNN.com ( www.cnn.com ), HLN.com ( www.hln.com ) and the CNN Airport Network.  NCM Media Networks will deliver the anti bullying and prevention PSAs to movie theaters this month via its Lobby Entertainment Network screens at AMC, Cinemark and Regal Entertainment Group theaters nationwide.  Existing partners include the Anti-Defamation League, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Project Change, and the US Dept. of Health and Human Service’s Health Resource Service Administration.  To support Stop Bullying: Speak Up, CNN will air Bullying: No Escape: an Anderson Cooper 360 Special Report with People Magazine and Cartoon Network tonight at 10p.

NEW PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

Stan Lee, Chairman of POW! Entertainment, partners with the National Hockey League (NHL) and SLG Entertainment to form Guardian Media Entertainment (GME).  The partnership will see the launch of Lee’s new tween boy targeted, multiplatform superhero franchise, The Guardian Project ( www.guardianproject30.com), which will include a team of 30 Guardian superheroes, one to represent each NHL team and featuring a superpower that corresponds with that team as well.  The project will feature motion capture technology created by Vicon House of Moves (Iron Man2).  One of the goals of the project is to introduce young fans to hockey.  The 30 Guardians will be unveiled together in a special presentation during the 2011 NHL All-Star Game on January 30 in Raleigh, NC.
