AMC: Television’s Best Story

Kyle Chandler, star of NBC’s Friday Night Lights, confirmed the drama will return to NBC for a third season in an interview for NPR’s Fresh Air program, reports B&C. Chandler said an agreement was reached regarding costs so the show can continue and he said production will resume in Austin this June. NBC has not made a statement about the series.

NBC will team with Strikeforce, the fight promotion company on a weekly late-night mixed martial arts show called Strikeforce on NBC set to debut April 12 at 2a. Weekly episodes follow the Poker After Dark series and will showcase boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu and judo as well as profile the fighters.

TidalTV, Inc. and Scripps Networks formed a pact where programming from HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network and Fine Living Network will be available on TidalTV’s channel lineup and within its on-demand content library. Some of the show titles include HGTV’s House Hunters and Designed to Sell; DIY’s Sweat Equity; and Fine Living’s The Perfect Party.

Retirement Living TV (RLTV) gained distribution this week via Verizon FiOS which will fully distribute RLTV programming 24/7.

CYNOPSIS DIGITAL – TODAY’S TOP STORY:   YouTube unveiled a new metrics tool dubbed “YouTube Insight,” providing producers with more precise data on who’s watching their videos, where they are in the country, how often they’re watching and when peak viewing times are. The tool should also help provide much needed context and performance data to marketers, the company suggests. For instance, a movie studio can upload several different trailers then adjust their TV spot buys depending on which trailer catches on in a particular region.  Full edition: CYN DIGITAL.
