~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

Two more comedy pilots were picked up by FOX.  Cougar Town’s Kevin Biegel is behind Enlisted, about three brothers who are different and working together in the Army at a small base in Florida.  The single-camera project received a script with penalty order from FOX.  Enlisted is based on Biege’s relationship with his own siblings and he will write and serve as EP with Mike Royce (Men of a Certain Age).  Feature writer Michelle Morgan is behind the second pilot titled Two Wrongs, a relationship comedy about two star-crossed lovers, Nick and Jenny who must deal with Nick’s family’s strong dislike of Jenny.  The situation is not helped by the fact that Jenny jilted Nick seven years before at the altar. Morgan will write and be an EP with Aaron Kaplan and Chernin Co.’s Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope and Sean Perrone on board as EPs.  20th Television is producing.

HBO gave a pilot order for a comedy from brothers Mark and Jay Duplass titled Togetherness.  The comedy follows two couples living together who struggle to keep their relationships alive while pursuing their individual dreams.  The Duplass brothers will write, executive produce and direct the half-hour project while Duplass Brothers Productions’ producer Stephanie Langhoff will be a co-EP.

Two actors will be joining the final season of Showtime’s Dexter when the series returns in June.  Charlotte Rampling will play a neuro-psychiatrist who works with young psychopaths and profiles criminals in unorthodox ways.  Sean Patrick Flanery will play Jacob Elroy, an ex-cop and owner of a Miami-based PI firm.

Author, critic, and film historian Leonard Maltin will host the 4th annual 3D Creative Arts Awards on February 6 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.  This event will also serve a second anniversary celebration for 3net, a joint venture between Discovery, Sony, and IMAX.
