02/04/11

Good morning. It’s Friday, February 4, 2011, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing.

In London, Penguin Children’s Books establishes a new kid-centric licensing division, Media and Entertainment as it builds its efforts to support the growing kids licensing market.  Headed by Eric Huang, newly promoted to Publishing Director, the Media and Entertainment group combines the BBC, Sunbird and Ladybird Licensing teams.  Juliet Matthews becomes Publisher of the BBC Children’s, Ladybird Licensing and Sunbird imprints, overseeing the editorial and design teams, as well as maintaining her key role in the BBC joint venture.  She will report into Huang.  Meg Wang is upped to Editorial Director and will head up the editorial team, reporting to Matthews.  Rose Gardner is promoted to Junior Editor, reporting to Wang.  In the design area, Ben Hughes has been promoted to Senior Designer.
