Cynopsis: Kids!
04/20/12

Good morning. It’s Friday, April 20, 2012, and this your first early morning briefing.

Nickelodeon‘s new NickMom primetime, ad-supported, comedy programming block picks up three new series, The Judi and Kate Show (working title), Parental Discretion with Stefanie Wilder Taylor (working title) and What Carol Brady Thinks (working title). These new series join the previously greenlit stand-up comedy series, NickMom Night Out (26×30). The nightly NickMom block is slated to launch this fall 2012 on Nick Jr. channel. The website, NickMom.com (www.nickmom.com), bowed in fall 2011 and showcases editorial franchises, photos and video, with plans to expand to include more mom-centric humor, editorial, gaming and community features.

  • The Judi & Kate Show (20×30) – a show within a show, the series features two mom video bloggers talking about everything going on in their lives and their own take on motherhood. Executive produced by Coolfire Productions (Welcome to Sweetie Pies).
  • Parental Discretion with Stefanie Wilder Taylor (26×30)  hosted by author/comedienne Stefanie Wilder Taylor, each episode looks at different elements of parenting in humorous way in a mix of in-studio elements (interviews, video commentary, monologues and panel discussions) and field segments (hidden camera, mom on the street, sketches). Executive produced by Hugh Fink and Wilder Taylor.
  • What Carol Brady Thinks (26×30) – Through graphic overlays on top of the original series, the series takes viewers inside the mind of iconic mom Carol Brady. Executive Produced by Jim Burns.

A CYNOPSIS MESSAGE

Friday Fun Fact: Walt Disney ate a hot dog in Disneyland and counted how many steps it took to finish it. It took him about 25 steps, which is roughly the spacing of each trash can in every Disney park today.

Answer to Our Last Trivia Question: Who designed the opening sequence to I Love Lucy? You may have wondered why this is a kid’s trivia question, because the answer is Hanna-Barbera. Kudos to: Jessica Stango-Jaconey Inc/Aston PA; Cristen Wuetig-Comcast/Philadelphia.

Today’s Trivia Question: What pop band did Alexander Cabot III manage? (Email [email protected] with your answer and be sure to include your name, company, city and time zone. Unofficial rules: Only the second four correct answers from each time zone will be mentioned; and once you’ve been mentioned in any of the Cynopsis editions, you can’t be mentioned again that calendar week.)
