Fashion Strike-out? It’s all a matter of opinion. The writers of E!‘s Fashion Police are on strike and at a standoff with both E! and Rugby Productions, the production company owned by FP star Joan Rivers. The strike, sanctioned by the Writers Guild of America, alleges that while Fashion Police is one of the network’s highest-rated shows, its writers lack health and pension benefits, residuals, and industry-standard compensation. The writers are insisting they be covered by a Guild agreement and compensated appropriately. E! Brass responded that they are ready to sit down and negotiate with WGA representatives, while Rivers has repeatedly said she supports the writers and wants them to have a fair deal.
Its official. The reign of primetime’s favorite serial killer is ending. Blank, Chairman and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc. “Dexter paved the way for the next generation of award-winning hit Showtime series.” The show’s eighth and final season premieres Sunday, June 30 at 9p.

Lifton created and oversaw E! Entertainment’s weekday program, Daily 10.
Food Network‘s long-running competition series Food Network Star will be back for a ninth season this summer. Culinary icons Alton Brown, Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay will lead the charge to discover the best new faces in food television. In the one-hour season premiere on Sunday, June 2 at 9p, twelve contestants arrive in Los Angeles ready to stir, saute, and steam their way to stardom. In new twists this season, focus groups of Food Network fans will also have their say on contestant performances, and one finalist will be brought back after elimination for another chance at victory. Food Network Star is produced by LEG/Triage Entertainment.
Discovery‘s Mythbusters returns on Wednesday, May 1 at 9p. The series kicks off all-new episodes by revisiting the first myth that was ever tested 10 years ago: finding out if a rocket-propelled car can actually fly. Other highlights this season include a Breaking Bad crossover episode, a collaboration with the Deadliest Catch captains, and an episode featuring Indycar driver Ryan Briscoe and Olympic runner Wallace Spearmon.
