   IN THE NEWS

AMC Networks is reducing its global workforce of 1,800 employees by about 5% through voluntary buyouts. CEO Kristin Dolan said the exits were intended to “ensure we have the right skills for the future.” The news came on Friday, as AMC reported 3Q25 results that included a 17% decline in US ad sales and a 200,000 rise in paid streaming customers, to reach 10.4 million. “Our performance in the third quarter marks a key milestone in our transition from a cable networks business to a global streaming and technology focused content company,” Dolan said in the earnings release. “We have built the components of a modern media business that is nimble, independent and well suited to today’s environment and whatever comes next.”

CBS and Sony Pictures Television have resolved their dispute over syndicated distribution rights for “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune.” The companies have agreed that CBS will remain the exclusive domestic distributor of the shows in syndication and continue to deliver the shows through the 2027/2028 season, after which Sony Pictures Television will become the exclusive domestic distributor.

Dr. Phil McGraw-founded Envoy Media Co. has launched Envoy FAST, a FAST channel that made its debut on Samsung TV Plus and will roll out this month on Local Now and VIDAA OS platforms. Envoy FAST offers original daily entertainment, news and information, live sports, and licensed programming, leveraging viewership insights to tailor programming to audience interests.

ITV is in preliminary talks with Comcast and Sky to sell its media and entertainment division for $2.1 billion. However, “There can be no certainty as to the terms upon which any potential sale may be agreed or whether any transaction will take place,” cautioned the UK network in a statement.
