   IN THE NEWS

The Warner Bros. Discovery split will be complete by April, expects CEO David Zaslav. Speaking at a Goldman Sachs media conference, Zaslav said, “Everything’s on track.” The decision to separate the company into Global Media Networks (housing entertainment, sports and news television brands) and Warner Bros. (Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, DC Studios, HBO and HBO Max) was announced in June.

Diverse US audiences spend an estimated 14-18 minutes selecting content after turning on their TV, according to LG Ad Solutions’ 2025 Inclusive Screen report, highlighting the TV viewing habits of Black, Hispanic, Asian and LGBTQ+ CTV viewers. Additional findings include:
· 74% of LGBTQ+, 73% of Asian, 72% of Black, and 68% of Hispanic viewers prefer free ad-supported streaming over ad-free subscriptions.
· 72% of Black viewers want ads tied to their interests or the content they’re watching (22% higher than the general population), and 70% of Hispanic CTV viewers prefer seeing ads that are relevant to their interests.
· 85% of LGBTQ+ CTV viewers are more likely to watch content that portrays people like them.

“As consumers face an ever-expanding array of content across apps and platforms, personalization has moved from preference to an expectation in TV viewing,” said Monica Longoria, Head of Marketing Insights at LG Ad Solutions. “Our latest Inclusive Screen study shows that diverse audiences want more control, easier discovery and advertising that reflects their interests and identities. CTV is the medium that delivers on all of these needs.”

Amazon Ads and Netflix are partnering to provide advertisers using Amazon DSP with direct access to Netflix’s premium ad inventory beginning next quarter. “Our goal is to remove the guesswork for advertisers by making it simple to manage all of their TV planning and buying with Amazon Ads,” said Paul Kotas, SVP, Amazon Ads. As for Netflix, the partnership “perfectly aligns with our commitment of bringing advertisers even greater flexibility in their buys to achieve their marketing goals,” said Amy Reinhard, President of Advertising. “By integrating Amazon DSP and enabling even more advanced capabilities together over time, we’re making it easier than ever to connect with Netflix’s global engaged audience.” In June, Amazon announced a deal with Disney that integrated Disney’s Real-Time Ad Exchange and Amazon’s demand-side platform.

President Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday calling for stricter enforcement of direct-to-consumer pharmaceutical ads. The administration, which is also eyeing social media companies and influencers paid to promote drug products, is sending out about 100 cease-and-desist enforcement letters and thousands of warning letters.

ABC has chosen Taylor Frankie Paul, a star of Hulu hit “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” to be its next Bachelorette. Paul is the first woman handed the role who was not previously part of the “Bachelor” franchise.
