IN THE NEWS |
| Nine of television’s biggest media companies — A+E Global Media, AMC Global Media, FOX, Hallmark Media, NBCUniversal, Paramount, Scripps Networks, TelevisaUnivision, and Warner Bros. Discovery — have joined forces through OpenAP to launch an industry initiative aimed at standardizing how advertisers measure campaign performance across TV. The initiative centers on a long-standing pain point: connecting advertiser first-party data to actual TV exposure. To solve it, the coalition is introducing two new capabilities. The first is a standardized, cross-publisher Conversion API (CAPI) for TV advertising, giving advertisers a single integration point to link their first-party conversion and outcome data to exposure data across all participating publishers. The second is a set of new campaign workflows designed to improve performance measurement and give buyers the confidence to commit incremental spend across publishers and platforms. Following an Upfront season where cross-platform measurement dominated conversations, it appears the industry has a framework to match the ambition.
MS NOW’s weekday lineup gets its first major overhaul since the network rebranded from MSNBC under Versant, rolling out Monday, June 15. The revamped schedule expands to include Alicia Menendez, who will host “On the Line With Alicia Menendez” at 12 p.m. She joins a slate that will feature Stephanie Ruhle’s “Money, Power, Politics” at 9 a.m., Katy Tur’s “The Moment” at 2 p.m., and Ali Velshi’s “The 11th Hour” at 11 p.m. “Morning Joe” trims from four hours to three, kicking off at 6 a.m., while “The Weeknight” at 7 p.m. adds Symone Sanders Townsend and Michael Steele alongside new co-anchor Luke Russert. Peter Alexander will take over the 11 a.m. hour when summer arrives. The changes come on the heels of five straight months of year-over-year growth — up nearly 20 percent — and ahead of a pivotal midterm election. |
