Amazon Studios handed a pilot order to “DINKs,” an improvisational comedy starring and executive produced by real-life couple June Diane Raphael (“Grace & Frankie”) and Paul Scheer (“Black Monday”). Marta Kauffman (“Friends,” “Grace & Frankie”) is writer, executive producer and showrunner. The show is produced by Kauffman’s Okay Goodnight, Amazon MGM Studios and Lionsgate.

The 36th annual PGA Awards ceremony has been set for Saturday, February 8, 2025, in LA. Nominees for Theatrical Motion Pictures, Animated Motion Pictures, Television Series/Specials and Streamed or Televised Motion Pictures will be announced Friday, January 10.

Netflix nabbed international rights to BBC Three’s TV adaptation of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, the YA novel by Holly Jackson, who serves as an executive producer on the series. Emma Myers (“Wednesday”) stars as a young woman investigating the death of a schoolgirl five years earlier. Germany’s ZDFneo is co-producing with Netflix; Moonage (“The Gentlemen”) is producing.

Adler Entertainment Trust, the production company dedicated to adapting Warren Adler’s library of 56 novels, numerous plays and 100 short stories, is partnering with producer Todd Lieberman (“The Proposal”) and his production company, Hidden Pictures, on an initial two-project production deal. Both projects under the partnership will be produced by Lieberman under his Hidden Pictures banner and will be executive produced by AET’s Jonathan R. Adler and Michael Adler. Alex Young, Hidden Pictures President, will help oversee the partnership.

SPORTS ROUNDUP

NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” which ended its run in NYC on March 29 to move to the West Coast, is resurfacing to cover this week’s NFL draft on Thursday, April 25, Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 2 at 7a. The draft, taking place in Detroit, MI, will be simulcast on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and NFL Network.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the 2024 Gold and Silver Circle Inductees. In the Gold Circle are Bob Stenner and John Gilmartin. Entering the Silver Circle are Drew Esocoff, Fred Gaudelli, Pam Oliver, David Roberts, Renata Sedzimir, and Jake Soto. The honorees will be celebrated at the 45th Annual Sports Emmy Awards on Tuesday, May 21.

TNT Sports’ 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs coverage will continue with 14 First Round games over 5 days, beginning Wednesday, April 24 with Game 2 of the Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers at 10p on TBS and Max’s B/R Sports Add-On. Steve Mears will call the action with commentary from Colby Armstrong and Meaghan Mikkelson.

The WBNA’s Indiana Fever and Tegna are teaming to broadcast select Fever games for free on Tegna’s NBC and MeTV affiliates in Indianapolis. “This is an exhilarating moment for women’s sports,” said Dave Lougee, President/CEO of Tegna. “The WNBA and Fever are leading the charge with this groundbreaking local broadcast rights agreement. Sport 24, IMG’s inflight and in-ship live sports channel, struck a deal with the Union of European Football Associations to broadcast the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship. Sport 24 and its secondary channel Sport 24 Extra will show 50+ games of the tournament live on airlines and cruise ships. Taking place in Germany from 14 June to 14 July 2024, the upcoming UEFA European Football Championship will be the third consecutive edition of the men’s competition to be broadcast on the channel.

The NHL’s 2023-24 regular season was the league’s most-watched since 2015-16, and the most-watched on cable in 30 years. More than 58.6 million viewers across North America tuned into NHL games, and the season was up 8% year-over-year across TNT, ESPN and ABC.

The latest season of HGTV competition series “Rock the Block” delivered the network’s highest-rated series to-date in 2024, averaging a .61 Live+3 among A25-54 and a .84 among W25-54. Attracting 13.6 million total viewers since it premiered on Monday, March 4, the seven-episode season grew 53% among A25-54 and 58% among W25-54 over the prior six weeks.

The first two events of the Pro Padel League’s 2024 season drew nearly 1.6 million streams on the PPL YouTube channel, accumulating total watch time of just under 500,000 hours.

In what he described as a decision driven by the needs of his family, Aaron LaBerge, longtime Chief Technology Officer for Disney Entertainment and ESPN, is leaving the job at the end of June to join PENN Entertainment, which operates ESPN’s online sportsbook, as CTO. “This new role is exciting because I’ll get to continue to contribute to our company’s success from a new vantage point, while also being home for my family,” said LaBerge.
