Three Middle East entities will provide a total of $24 billion to Paramount Skydance for its takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery, reports The Wall Street Journal. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Qatar Investment Authority and Abu Dhabi’s L’imad Holdings are said to be finalizing deals to contribute to the $81 billion Paramount has agreed to pay for WBD. The Gulf investors will not have voting rights in the new company, according to WSJ.

The end of CBS’ “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” will mean a time change for “Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen.” Allen’s show, which had been airing at 12:35a, moves to 11:35p on Friday, May 22, followed by another Allen-produced show, “Funny You Should Ask.” The move is part of a time buy agreement for the 2026-2027 season, according to Variety, with Allen leasing the slots. Said the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Allen Media, “I created and launched ‘Comics Unleashed’ 20 years ago so my fellow comedians could have a platform to do what we all love – make people laugh. I truly appreciate CBS’ confidence in me by picking up our two-hour comedy block … because the world can never have enough laughter.”

CNN will host a California two-hour gubernatorial primary debate on Tuesday, May 5. So far, six Democrats and two Republicans have met the eligibility requirements: Republicans Riverside County sheriff Chad Bianco and former Fox News host Steve Hilton, and Democrats Xavier Becerra, former secretary of health and human services; Matt Mahan, mayor of San José; former Rep. Katie Porter; former presidential candidate Tom Steyer, US Rep. Eric Swalwell; and former Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

   GAMING

Netflix has launched a mobile app for its library of games for kids aged 8 and younger, ad-free with no in-app purchases. Users (or their parents) can find the app in the Apple App Store or Google Play and download it to their smartphone or tablet.

LiveRamp has expanded partnership with game engine Unity to improve marketers’ effectiveness reaching mobile users. The partnership will make LiveRamp’s durable, interoperable identifier – RampID – available across Unity Exchange, enabling marketers, agencies, and platforms to apply identity-based buying strategies within Unity’s mobile ecosystem, which includes 2.9 billion monthly active devices in mobile environments globally. “Marketers want to be able to activate across every channel and reach their target customers quickly and seamlessly, and the partnership between LiveRamp and Unity extends this even further into gaming, at scale,” said Matthew Hogg, SVP, Connectivity & Ecosystem at LiveRamp.

Hulu anthology series “4X20: Quick Hits,” focused on cannabis and the people who love it, drops Monday, April 20 with all four episodes. “Christmas has a whole cable channel dedicated to holiday programming,” said executive producer Jimmy Kimmel. “For 4/20, we made four 20-minute-long documentaries for those who celebrate with trees of a different kind.”

“You’re Killing Me,” starring and executive produced by Brooke Shields, makes its debut Monday, May 18 on Acorn TV.

Netflix is beefing up its preschooler offerings with new series “Young MacDonald,” and Monday premiere dates for “My ‘Sesame Street’ Friends: My Elmo” (April 13), “CoComelon Lane” (April 20), “My Sesame Street Friends: My Abby” (April 27) and “Dr. Seuss’s Horton!” (May 4), among others.

Jessica Lange is taking another turn on “American Horror Story,” for season 13. Lange last appeared on the Ryan Murphy drama in season 8.

French Senegalese action thriller “Lex Africana” premieres Tuesday, May 5 on MHz Choice.

Source Media Group today announces the launch of Source Golf, a daily golf network that offers brands access to the combined audience of the top YouTube golf channels through a single, network-level media buy. “For the first time, the sport’s top creators and athletes are coming together as a network, built for the biggest screen in the home,” said Steve Strand, President and Co-Founder of Source Media Group. “We’ve rebuilt the golf bundle for the streaming era.”

Hearst-owned WDSU-TV is saddling up as the exclusive broadcast partner for Hondo Rodeo Fest’s three-night, million-dollar showdown, April 10–12 at the Caesars Superdome. The event will air nightly on MeTV New Orleans and stream on Hearst’s Very Local app.

   RATINGS

Viewership for the two Men’s Final Four averaged 16.2 million, according to AdImpact. The Michigan/Arizona matchup averaged 20.2 million viewers, with streaming accounting for 54%. The earlier game between UConn and Illinois averaged 16.3 million viewers, with streaming making up 53%.
