QVC Group announced a deal with TikTok that will have 24/7 live shopping streams featuring QVC brands and talent on the platform. “Our agreement will be a catalyst to transform shopping and discovery, not only for QVC Group and TikTok Shop, but also for social shopping at large,” said David Rawlinson II, President and CEO, QVC Group. TikTok, owned by Chinese company ByteDance, faces an April 5 deadline to agree to a new ownership structure due to national security concerns.
Meanwhile, Amazon and AppLovin reportedly submitted eleventh-hour bids for TikTok. Amazon’s bid came via an offer letter addressed to Vice President JD Vance and Howard Lutnick, the commerce secretary, according to The New York Times. In March, President Trump said he was talking to four potential buyers. |
Deborah Norville announced her departure from “Inside Edition” after 30 years as host. “They made me a lovely offer to stay, but there are things I’d like to do and places I want to do them that continuing here doesn’t permit,” said Norville during Wednesday’s broadcast. “So, at the end of the season, I’ll be moving on. I’ve got some exciting things in the works, which I’ll talk about later, but what I want to say now is what a privilege it’s been to lead ‘Inside Edition’ for all these years.” Norville will be staying busy – she’s hosting new syndicated game show “The Perfect Line,” slated to debut this fall.
Skai, the omnichannel platform for commerce media, has introduced Celeste AI, a GenAI marketing agent designed to transform how brands and agencies navigate commerce media. Powered by Skai’s proprietary data, Celeste aggregates signals from 200+ publishers, competitive insights, and cross-channel performance to deliver tailored recommendations. “Don’t think of Celeste as just a new tool — it’s an enabling technology that transforms how marketers engage with data, make decisions, and drive growth,” said Gil Sadeh, President of Skai. “As AI becomes the new UI, marketers must look beyond feature comparisons when selecting their tech partners and focus on intelligence.”
The Television Critics Association has canceled its Summer Press Tour. “The systems that once supported the tour, in Hollywood and journalism, have changed,” said the TCA in an email to members. “Networks have consolidated into just a few companies and cut publicity staff. There are considerable costs for those presenting panels – the hotel and AV are expensive for the networks. The TCA Board reduced some of those costs by half, but that was not enough.” It’s been a rocky few years for the event, between Covid, the WGA strike and the cancellation of this year’s Winter Press Tour due to “deep contraction” in Hollywood.
Netflix TV viewers now have more subtitle language options. “If you’re trying to learn a new language by viewing your favorite Mexican show with Korean dubbing and English subtitles, or watching the latest Netflix discovery with family members who speak several languages, the Netflix TV experience just got a whole lot more multilingual,” said the streamer in a blog post.
Spectrum has selected Horizon Media as its media agency of record. The new agency partnership is part of Spectrum’s effort to unify its brand communications across all its residential and commercial lines of business in the broadband, wireless and video marketplaces. |

Wendy’s partnered with Snapchat to test a new ad format, Sponsored Snaps, which delivers a full-screen video Snap directly to users’ chat inboxes – and it drove 52 million impressions in one day. Wendy’s in-app profile increased its organic followers by 55% and generated nearly 12,000 clicks and a 17% overall ad awareness brand lift, according to Snap. Wendy’s secret? They’ve got you. “Since the ad shows up right in a user’s chat feed—where they’re already actively engaging—it felt more like a message from a friend than a traditional ad,” Russ Mischner, Wendy’s VP of Integrated Marketing, told QSR. “That, combined with our distinct voice and creative style, made the experience feel authentic rather than forced.” |

DOOH |
Ninety-five percent of UK omnichannel advertisers plan to maintain or increase DOOH spend in the next 12 months, according to the “DPAA UK Omnichannel Decision Makers Study,” sponsored Alight Media and conducted by Advertising Perceptions. Other findings include:
· 68% of omnichannel advertisers launched a new DOOH campaign in the past 12 months, while 81% plan to recommend DOOH in the next year.
· 83% of brands believe digital screens can offer upper funnel marketing value in retail stores.
· Advertisers project that programmatic will continue to be a bigger part of DOOH, with allocation of DOOH spending on programmatic rising from 26% in 2024 to 41% in 2026.
“It has become clear that omnichannel planning and buying is the future of DOOH advertising, as silo walls come down, budgets come from overall digital ad budgets, and data and automation place DOOH on a more even playing field alongside its digital peers,” said DPAA President and CEO Barry Frey. |
