Warner Bros. Discovery’s branded content studio Courageous is Crush-ing it. To assist game app Candy Crush promote its annual All Stars Tournament, Courageous has produced a food-themed video for Food Network’s new season of “Tournament of Champions,” sports-themed video that has aired on “NBA on TNT Postgame Show,” and content to stream on Max and Bleacher Report. “The tournament-focused messaging of this new Candy Crush partnership presented the opportunity for us to tap into culturally relevant programming and events across the WBD portfolio to create a seamless ad experience for our viewers,” said Marybeth Strobel, EVP, ad sales at Warner Bros. Discovery. “By identifying synergies that fit our partners’ advertising and marketing goals, we are able to keep our audiences engaged and deliver the most impact for brands.

“Vanderpump Rules” spinoff “The Valley” debuted as Bravo’s most-watched series premiere in nearly ten years. The series drew 2.8 million viewers in Live+7 data, including 1.6 million A18-49. About 51% of viewership was on Peacock.

Hedge fund billionaire/Mets owner Steve Cohen’s Point72 owns about 5% of Fox Corp., or about 12 million shares, according to a filing with the SEC. Point72 appears to have accumulated most of its Fox holdings in recent weeks. But with the opening of baseball season, Cohen has other things on his mind. Asked on Friday about his expectations for the Mets after last season’s disastrous showing, Cohen said, “I think the goal is to make the playoffs. Pretty simple. Let’s not overthink this.”

Hulu canceled “Death and Other Details” after one season. The murder mystery starred Mandy Patinkin as “the world’s once greatest detective.”

In honor of its 10th anniversary, Pluto TV is hosting a rally for Pluto (the planet) to spark the conversation around Pluto’s planetary status. It’s been 18 years since the International Astronomical Union made the controversial decision to downgrade Pluto from the ninth plane from the sun, to a “dwarf planet.” The sit-in will feature guest speakers, chants, snacks and more, today at LA’s UCLA Bruin Plaza.

Harry Smith is exiting NBC News after 12 years, and returning to his alma mater, Iowa’s Central College, to teach. “And I might write a book or two,” he said during a send-off appearance on “Today.” Before NBC, Smith spent 17 years at CBS News.

NEW & RETURNING SERIES

New Food Network series “Selena + Restaurant” follows Selena Gomez (“Only Murders in the Building”) as she ventures to professional kitchens to learn the tricks of the trade, starting Thursday, May 2 at 7p.

Season two of “Beacon 23” premieres Sunday, April 7 at 9p on MGM+. The sci-fi drama follows two men trapped in the galaxy.

“Orphan Black: Echoes,” starring and executive produced by Krysten Ritter (“Love and Death”), launches Sunday, June 23 on AMC, AMC+ and BBC America. The announcement was made as part of the celebration of the 11th anniversary of “Orphan Black.”
