The Interactive Advertising Bureau announced the initial schedule for the 2014 NewFronts: the two weeks of digital content presentations between April 28 and May 8 in New York City, which is twice the length of last year’s. Check out the schedule below:

CONTENT MEDIA

Hulu Plus acquired exclusive streaming rights to full seasons of ABC’s Nashville. Subscribers can now watch all of season one as well as the most recent eps as they air on ABC. Last week, Hulu acquired streaming rights to Blue Bloods (CBS) and Elementary (CBS).

Argh! Some Xbox users got an unintended sneak peek at the mid-season premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead on Saturday morning, ahead of the much-pirated zombie drama’s scheduled Sunday showing. The error was fixed quickly, after word of the error spread online. Dead’s season four premiere in October – which also got an accidental early airing, on Google Play – scored a record-breaking 16.1 million viewers and 10.4 million among A18-49. The series is back on Sundays at 9p.

MOBILE GAMING + APPS

After the Sochi Winter Olympics kicked off on Thursday, another lesser known Olympic “sport” – pin trading – is going for the gold with the roll-out of Pinsanity. Ad Age reports the U.S. Olympic Committee launched the mobile Facebook game, which centers on the buying, selling, and trading of commemorative Olympic pins, for smartphones and tablets in order to connect with younger Olympic audiences. Winners can enter to convert online pins into real merchandise.

TECHNOLOGY

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced on Friday that the company has bought back $14 billion worth of its stock in the past couple of weeks, part of the previously announced plan to buy back more than $60 billion shares in the next few years. Cook also noted the company is experimenting in “new product categories.” Apple has recently been criticized for no longer creating new devices, but rather just focusing on updates to the current products. One rumored new product? The iWatch.

EXEC MOVES

Mark Horak has joined Redbox as President. Most recently, Horak served as President the Americas at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Major League Baseball writer and author Robe Neyer has joined FoxSports.com as the new Senior Baseball Editor. Neyer joins Fox from SB Nation where he was the National Baseball Editor for three years.

DIGITAL SPOTLIGHT OF THE DAY

Esurance, the company that snagged the first ad slot directly after the Super Bowl aired, hosted a Twitter sweepstakes to give away $1.5 million – which is the difference in the price of a commercial airing after instead of during the game  to a viewer who tweeted the hashtag #EsuranceSave30 36 hours after the ad aired. Esurance spokesman John Krasinski (The Office) announced the winner last week on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Check out the video of the reveal at www.cynopsis.com, and take a look at just how successful the campaign was, according to Essurance:

  • 5.4 million uses of the #EsuranceSave30 hashtag
  • 200,000+ entries in the first minute of the commercial
  • 1.4 million hashtags were used in the first hour, and 4.5 million in the first 24 hours
  • 2.6 billion social impressions on Twitter
  • 332,000 views of the Esurance commercial on YouTube
  • 261,000 new followers on the Esurance Twitter handle
  • 12 times the number of visits to the Esurance website in the first hours of the sweepstakes.
