Sasheer Zamata wasn’t the only talent discovered during Saturday Night Live‘s search for an African-American female cast member. LaKendra Tookes and Leslie Jones were impressive enough during auditions to be been hired as SNL writers and start Monday, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Zamata’s first on-air appearance on the late-night NBC sketch show is January 18.

Nancy Kerrigan will return to the Olympics as a figure skating analyst for NBC in Sochi. The former Olympian, who won a silver medal in 1994, seven weeks after being attacked with a baton, will also make appearances on other NBCUniversal shows. The Olympics begin Friday, February 6.

Cinemax is posting “character Vines” to promote the season two premiere of drama Banshee. “We shot the Banshee Vines on set with the entire cast, using the app itself,” exec producer Greg Yaitanes tells Cynopsis. “They express the inner thoughts of the characters and will hopefully help engage and excite our viewers.” Season two bows Friday, January 10 at 10p.

The Fashion Police feud may be cooling down. After an official NLRB election, E! said Wednesday it is ready to negotiate with the Writers Guild over the show’s striking writers, who want to be repped by Guild. “We continue to believe that the secret ballot election was vital to protecting the rights of all Fashion Police writers,” E! said in a statement to The Wrap.

The winter premiere of ABC Family‘s Pretty Little Liars was the most-tweeted premiere in U.S. TV history, with more than 1.3 million tweets by nearly 473,000 unique contributors.

A new Super Bowl ad study from Communicus suggests most of the 2013 big game’s premium-priced pitches “failed to deliver” in terms of purchasing behavior, with just one out of five ads actually selling a product. It also noted that some ads, like the Mercedes “Soul” spot, that did not rank as a crowd favorite, built significantly more purchase interest than better-liked commercials.

FX is teaming with barbershops nationwide to get people buzzing about its new animated comedy, Chozen. The event includes free Chozen-inspired hair trims, photo ops and giveaways; show premieres Monday, January 13 at 10:30p.

The latest events added to the lineup for Paleyfest include a Lost: 10th Anniversary Reunion as well as events for Orange Is the New Black, How I Met Your Mother, Parks & Recreation, Sleepy Hollow, Mad Men, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Masters of Sex, The Mindy Project, Community and Veep.
