Marc Etkind, General Manager, DestinationAmerica: I run Destination America so I like to hear about people’s uniquely American experience– memories of family trips, unusual summer jobs, favorite regional foods, great US vacation spots, etc.
Tom Maney, EVP, Fox Hispanic Media: If you ask those who I have interviewed, you’d hear that I ask a lot of “non-traditional” questions. In the confines of a short interview, I try to learn as much as I can about the character of the candidate. I ask questions about music, success, failure, and I always ask my favorite question, a hypothetical situation involving driving a sports car on a dark and stormy night.
I look for “fit” at every level: how that person is going to handle the responsibilities of the position, but more important, how that person is going to work with and complement the existing team members. Character and drive are also very important.
