No one likes paying taxes – especially when your tax bill rivals the GDP of several small countries. Back in August, the European Commission ruled that Ireland’s tax arrangements with Apple were illegal under EU rules, ordering the tech giant to pay back $14 billion in uncollected taxes. Now, as first reported by Reuters, Apple has appealed that ruling. "Apple is not an outlier in any sense that matters to the law,” Apple general counsel Bruce Sewell told Reuters. “Apple is a convenient target because it generates lots of headlines.” Experts say it will likely take years for the case to be settled.

Looks like Vine isn’t entirely dead. Yes, Twitter’s six-second video service, as we know it, is still going to be shuttered soon. But according to a new blog post, the Vine app itself will live on with many of the same features. As part of a January update, the app will be renamed ‘Vine Camera.’ Vine Camera will still enable users to create looping six-second videos. Vine will no longer be a standalone network, but users will be able to save videos on their phones or post them directly to Twitter.
 
Facebook Messenger has begun rolling out group video chat – arguably the app’s most widely-requested feature. It’ll be available globally for both iOS and Android devices. The new feature will support up to six videos at a time, but up to 50 users will be able to watch and/or join in via voice or stickers. 
 
Football this is not. ABC has launched a new fantasy league for The Bachelor, enabling viewers to form leagues with other players and predict which female stars will go farthest on the series. ESPN, no stranger to fantasy competition, will help power the feature. (Like ABC, ESPN is owned by Disney.) The new fantasy contest will be available via the ESPN Fantasy app, as well as through ABC’s website.
