After pulling its programming from Dish Network on Friday, CBS finally came to a multi-year retransmission deal with the satellite TV company, ending a courtroom battle over Dish’s ad-skipping DVR service AutoHop. Dish has agreed to disable AutoHop within the first week of a CBS show airing. The agreement includes CBS Sports Network and other CBS-owned channels like Showtime and Smithsonian Channel and covers retransmission consent for CBS-owned stations across the country. Dish did win some key digital rights in the deal, such as a path to over-the-top distribution of Showtime, but the agreement stops short of rights for a full Internet TV service.

IN THE NEWS

President Barack Obama sat down with BET Networks for an exclusive interview at the White House to discuss the recent unrest in America. BET’s 106 & Park airs a portion of the interview on Monday, December 8 at 5p. The full in-depth interview airs immediately following at 6p on BET News Presents: A Conversation with President Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, Stephen Colbert welcomes President Obama as his guest on the Monday, December 8 episode of The Colbert Report. Colbert announced the news on his show’s Thursday night airing, noting that his interview will be part of a special visit to the capital. He said that he’s calling it “Stephen Colbert Presents: Mr. Colbert Goes to Washington, D.C. Ya Later, Legislator: Partisan is Such Sweet Sorrow: A Colbert Victory Lap ‘014.” The Colbert Report airs on Comedy Central.

Sons of Anarchy‘s finale episode, which airs Tuesday, December 9 at 10p on FX, might not come as a surprise to some viewers. A new book, Sons of Anarchy: The Official Collector’s Edition, was sent out early, resulting in readers discovering details about the show’s ending. Creator Kurt Sutter released a lengthy apology about the book’s early release, calling the gaffe  "a storyteller’s worst nightmare.” He went on to ask readers not share their “wrath or pain or opinion in social media so as to not spoil the experience of others” and urged them to still tune in for the finale. “It plays much better than it reads,” said Sutter. The book will be on shelves December 10.

CBS comedy Two and a Half Men will conclude its twelfth and final season with a special one-hour series finale on Thursday, February 19 at 9p. The show, which stars Ashton Kutcher and Emmy Award winner Jon Cryer and is executive produced by Chuck Lorre, ranked as television’s most watched comedy for five consecutive seasons from 2005-2006 through 2009-2010.

Candy Crowley is leaving CNN. The anchor has been with the news network since 1987 and hosted State of the Union since 2010. CNN president Jeff Zucker announced her departure in a staff memo. Neither Crowley’s future plans nor her departure date was revealed.

Elton John will perform his anthem, I’m Still Standing, in a special live appearance from his concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015. His performance will take place right after the ball drops, ringing in the start to 2015. John’s will be one of more than 38 performances throughout the night, which begins at 8p on Wednesday, December 31 on ABC.

PowerwomenTV teamed up with Time Inc. to launch The Climb, which focuses on successful female celebrities and entrepreneurs. Created by Amy Palmer, subjects include Tamara Mellon (Jimmy Choo), June Ambrose (stylist), Crystal Renn (plus size model), Dj Chelsea Leyland and blogger Arielle Nachmani (Something Navy). BBC America drama The Musketeers returns for a second season on Saturday, January 17 at 9p.
