The partnerships with the PGA TOUR and THE PLAYERS will provide Grant Thornton with premier positioning during THE PLAYERS telecast on the Golf Channel and NBC – alongside Morgan Stanley and Optum, as the three exclusive Proud Partners.
CBS Sports Digital picked up the National Lacrosse League, streaming live and on-demand NLL games on the subscription OTT service SportsLive, including regular-season and playoff games. “We are thrilled to continue to build upon our historic broadcasting partnerships with the addition of CBS Sports Digital. NBA 2K League Managing Director Brendan Donohue took to Reddit to announce the NBA 2K League Qualifier, described as the first step for potential players to try out for the league. The first stage of qualifying for the NBA 2K League will run from Jan. 1-31, and mandates that players need to win 50 games in NBA 2K18’s Pro-Am mode and complete an online application by Jan. 31. Players can compete as a walk-on, part of a team or a combination. Players who meet these requirements in January can be invited to the next round of tryouts in February, after which, the best players will be selected for the draft that will take place in March. Each of the 17 teams participating in the inaugural season will draft five players who will live in-market during the season, which tips off in May 2018.
David Shoemaker will step down from his role as the CEO of NBA China following the 2017-18 NBA season. He has been in his current role since June 2011 and will continue to lead NBA China through the season and will play an active role in the recruitment of his successor. “Under David’s leadership, our game and business in China have seen unprecedented popularity and growth,” said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. “We are grateful for David’s contributions during his tenure as CEO and are fortunate that he’ll be with us through the season to assist with the transition.”

Soccer United Marketing President Kathy Carter is running for president of the US Soccer Federation. Carter has taken leave of her post at SUM, according to reports, and will be one of eight candidates for the position. The election will be held in February.
