Dish Network and Turner announced Friday they had “mutually decided” to restore the eight channels that had been off the satellite service provider since October 21 – CNN, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, truTV, TCM, HLN, CNN en Espanol and Boomerang – and extend the carriage deal of TBS and TNT, set to expire December 5, as they continued negotiations. Who blinked? “Dish and Turner will not have any further comment,” said a statement from Turner. Dish and CBS also agreed to a short-term extension of their carriage agreement, which was to expire on Thursday.

Aereo has filed for Chapter 11 in NYC bankruptcy court. “The reversal of the Second Circuit decision in June by the U.S. Supreme Court has proven difficult to overcome,” said CEO Chet Kanojia. “The U.S. Supreme Court decision effectively changed the laws that had governed Aereo’s technology, creating regulatory and legal uncertainty for the company. And while our team has focused its energies on exploring every path forward available to us, without that clarity, those challenges have limited our options.” Last month a U.S. District Court imposed a nationwide injunction on Aereo, requested by broadcasters calling foul on the streaming of their signals.

It’s an instant win-win for everyone, including Tina, Robert and Universal Television.”
Backstage before a a stand-up show last week, Bill Cosby, accused of multiple instances of sexual assault, told a reporter from Florida Today, “I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn’t have to answer to innuendos.” In response to the allegations, Netflix postponed a Thanksgiving Day special with Cosby and NBC canceled development of a comedy pilot; a November 28 show at Las Vegas’ Treasure Island was also canceled, “by mutual agreement.”
