Dish Network and Turner announced Friday they had “mutually decided” to restore the eight channels that had been off the satellite service provider since October 21 – CNN, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, truTV, TCM, HLN, CNN en Espanol and Boomerang – and extend the carriage deal of TBS and TNT, set to expire December 5, as they continued negotiations. Who blinked? “Dish and Turner will not have any further comment,” said a statement from Turner. Dish and CBS also agreed to a short-term extension of their carriage agreement, which was to expire on Thursday.

IN THE NEWS

The Queen Latifah Show was cancelled by Sony Pictures Television, but will continue with season two original episodes through March. Season to date, the syndicated talk show is averaging a 1.0 rating and 1.4 million total viewers. “The most important thing in life is that you wake up every single day and take chances,” the host posted on Facebook when the news broke. “No matter what the outcome…believe in yourself and continue to fly.”

Aereo has filed for Chapter 11 in NYC bankruptcy court. “The reversal of the Second Circuit decision in June by the U.S. Supreme Court has proven difficult to overcome,” said CEO Chet Kanojia. “The U.S. Supreme Court decision effectively changed the laws that had governed Aereo’s technology, creating regulatory and legal uncertainty for the company. And while our team has focused its energies on exploring every path forward available to us, without that clarity, those challenges have limited our options.” Last month a U.S. District Court imposed a nationwide injunction on Aereo, requested by broadcasters calling foul on the streaming of their signals.

TBS cancelled comedy Sullivan & Son after three seasons. With Men at Work cancelled in May and Cougar Town on the way out, the only returning original scripted series on the net in 2015 will be Ground Floor.

The monster snowstorm that dumped seven feet of the white stuff on Buffalo, NY has forced the NFL to reroute the Bills’ home game against the NY Jets on Sunday to tonight in Detroit. CBS will air the game at 7p in the teams’ markets.

Adam Pally is leaving Fox’s The Mindy Project in early 2015. The Happy Endings alum recently signed a deal with ABC Studios to produce projects for broadcast and streaming services.

Netflix has picked up Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, from Tina Fey and Robert Carlock and for good measure, ordered a second season. The offbeat comedy had been scheduled by NBC for midseason. Said NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt, “We have a very drama-heavy midseason schedule, so we’re thrilled about this Netflix opportunity. It’s an instant win-win for everyone, including Tina, Robert and Universal Television.”

Backstage before a a stand-up show last week, Bill Cosby, accused of multiple instances of sexual assault, told a reporter from Florida Today, “I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn’t have to answer to innuendos.” In response to the allegations, Netflix postponed a Thanksgiving Day special with Cosby and NBC canceled development of a comedy pilot; a November 28 show at Las Vegas’ Treasure Island was also canceled, “by mutual agreement.”

ABC salutes Disney Theatrical Productions’ success on the Great White Way with Backstage with Disney on Broadway: Celebrating 20 Years. The one hour special from Lincoln Square Productions, hosted by Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson and featuring a performance by Sir Elton John, airs Sunday, December 14 at 7p.
