A+E Networks inked a deal with China’s Jiangsu Broadcasting to co-produce Scars of Nanking. The docu-drama about the massacre by Japanese invaders during WWII will premiere Wednesday, December 13 on History in the U.S., History in Asia and simultaneously on Jiangsu Satellite TV.
 
Marja-Lewis Ryan (6 Balloons) has been named showrunner and exec producer of Showtime’s The L World sequel, currently in development. Series creator Ilene Chaiken will serve as executive producer along with Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig and Leisha Hailey, who all starred in the 2004-2009 original.
 
YouTube ordered docu-series Best Shot, about ESPN analyst Jay Williams, a college basketball star chosen second in the 2002 NBA draft whose career was crushed the next year by a motorcycle accident. Series comes from SpringHill Entertainment and Boardwalk Pictures in association with Blue Ribbon Content. LeBron James is among the exec producers.
 
E! gave a pilot commitment plus penalty to Juicy Stories, from Sex and the City’s Michael Patrick King and Amy B. Harris, Warner Horizon Scripted Television and Universal Cable Productions, reports Deadline. Drama is inspired by the founders of Juicy Couture.

Season 6 of Lifetime social experiment Married at First Sight launches Tuesday, January 2 at 9p. This time around, Boston singles get hitched to a stranger. Married at First Sight: Matchmaking Special precedes the premiere, at 8p.
 
All 10 episodes of Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, from Sony Pictures Television, will debut Friday, January 12 on Amazon. UK’s Channel 4 premiered the sci-fi anthology series in October.
 
Four-part comedy-drama The Indian Detective premieres worldwide on Netflix Tuesday, December 19. Comedian Russell Peters, Anupam Kher (The Big Sick), needs-no-ID William Shatner and Christina Cole (Suits) are among the stars.

A&E IndieFilms documentary feature A Gray State debuts on A&E Monday, December 11 at 10p. Film focuses on the mysterious death of David Crowley, an Iraq veteran and aspiring filmmaker.
 
The Africa Channel will air a Death in Paradise marathon on Christmas Day, from 7a-11p. The network describes the stunt as “an escape to paradise from the holiday hustle.”
 
Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie debuts Friday, November 24 at 7p on Nickelodeon, TeenNIck and Nicktoons. Two-hour movie picks up where the series left off in 2004, with Arnold and pals searching for his missing parents.

British camera operator Mark Milsome died over the weekend in Ghana, filming a stunt scene for BBC/Netflix drama The Forgiving Earth. He was 54. “Mark MIlsome was a hugely talented and a much-respected colleague,” said the BBC. Milsome’s other credits include Call the Midwife, Game of Thrones and Sherlock.
