Propelled by the world premieres of the new original holiday movies Christmas Festival of Ice (Saturday, November 4) and Miss Christmas (Sunday, November 5), the net took top honors for the second weekend in a row, becoming the highest-rated and most-watched network on cable among HH, W18-49; W25-54; and Total Viewers. Among the veterans, Dr Phil (3.6, up 6%) raced to a new season high and manhandled the talkers for the 60th week in a row. “Season premieres dominated our Attention Index for October,” Dan Schiffman, chief research officer of TVision Insights, tells Cynopsis of the company’s Monthly Attention Index for Primetime Broadcast and Cable. “On broadcast, comedies performed well. America’s Funniest Home Videos, Me, Myself & I, Will & Grace and Last Man on Earth all made the Broadcast top 5. On Cable the focus was reality TV. Bravo and TLC each have two reality shows on our top 5 this month.” TVision measures actual eyes on screen attention from an opt-in panel of 7,500 people at 2,000 US households, second by second with privacy safe facial recognition technology.
