What’s the best career advice you ever got?
A mentor of mine one told me: “You don’t have to have your foot on the gas ALL the time. It is your choice when to ease up and when to lean into your career. I have faith that even if you pull back, you will still be a rock star. Set your own pace.”
What’s a good tip for job interviews?
Be yourself. Ask questions that show how you think. Be brutally honest in your responses and thoughts.
What are the three most important qualities in a successful manager?
Empathy. Authenticity. Advocacy.

Michael Fletcher has joined environmental organization EarthX as Co-CEO. The former CEO of Ride TV will lead the growth and transformation of EarthxTV.

PR agency Smithhouse has appointed Steven Feldman as Vice President, and Danielle Matlin as Director. Feldman was previously Director, Communications at CBS Television, while Matlin oversaw efforts for TLC’s “90 Day Fiance” franchise.

As it moves forward with reforms, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has named speaker and entrepreneur Neil Phillips as its first Chief Diversity Officer. “The HFPA has welcomed me and given me the opportunity to work not only with them, but the broader Hollywood and media industries that have struggled to discuss these issues of race openly and candidly without fear,” said Phillips.

Adaora Udoji is joining PBS’ General Audience Programming team as Vice President of Programming & Operations. Most recently, Udoji led a corporate innovation and venture program team at RLab.

Pia Chaozon Barlow is being elevated to Executive Vice President, Originals Marketing, HBO Max. In this expanded role, Barlow will lead marketing for all original programming on HBO Max.

PBS announced that Lori Brittain has been promoted to serve as Vice President of LearningMedia. Brittain has served as the interim head of education since September.

Magnolia Network’s Lauren Frasca, former VP of Content, has been elevated to SVP of Content and Strategy. Sarah Kuban, who also formerly served the network as VP of content, has been promoted to SVP of Content and Special Projects.

Advertising agency Doner announced the launch of a new Chicago Talent Hub. Julio Desir, a Detroit native who joined Doner this January, has been promoted to EVP, Executive Creative Director and will lead the hub.
