Supply chain issues are likely to affect TV advertising, particularly in the categories of auto, tech, retain and restaurants, warns MoffetNathanson analyst Michael Nathanson. “Despite Black Friday being less than a month out, we’ve…heard from our channel checks that national TV scatter inventory (which is at the top of the food chain) has yet to sell out 4Q,” he said in a research note on Monday.

Tracy Morgan (“The Last O.G.”) is the new voice lead in Adult Swim’s “Squidbillies.” Morgan will play Early Cuyler, replacing Stuart D. Baker, who was fired in 2020 over “extremely offensive and derogatory social media posts.” The animated series launches its thirteenth and final season Sunday, November 7 at midnight.

“The Real Housewives” franchise is going global Bravo has ordered “The Real Housewives of Dubai.” Set to premiere in 2022, it’s the 11th city in the franchise that started in Orange County, CA.

Apple TV+ picked up travel docu-series “The Reluctant Traveler,” hosted and exec produced by Eugene Levy (“Schitt’s Creek”). Levy will visit some of the world’s most remarkable hotels. Producer is Twofour.

Like father, like son: Dan Levy (“Schitt’s Creek”) will host and exec produce cooking competition “The Big Brunch,” greenlit by HBO Max. “What we love about this special show is that it serves more than mouth-watering culinary delicacies; it’s about heart, a love of cooking and spotlighting talent whose unique skills elevate the beloved brunch menu,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max. “There’s no better foodie or creative partner than Dan and the team at Boardwalk Pictures.”

Lifetime holiday movie (and “Grey’s Anatomy”) star Sarah Drew landed a two-picture deal to star in, write and executive produce films for Lifetime’s It’s a Wonderful Lifetime slate. In addition, Drew will star in greenlit “Stolen Hearts: The Lizbeth Meredith Story” (wt).

Production on the live-action comedy “Hocus Pocus 2,” the sequel to Disney’s Halloween 1993 cult classic, is underway in Rhode Island. The Disney+ original film directed by Anne Fletcher (“Dumplin,’” “The Proposal”) will debut on Disney+ in Fall 2022, with the original’s stars, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.

The first episode of Peacock mystery thriller “Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol” will go linear Monday, November 8 at 10p on NBC. The episode will take the place of an “Ordinary Joe” repeat.

Season 52 of “Sesame Street” debuts Thursday, November 11 on Cartoonito on HBO Max. New episodes of the children’s series will drop every Thursday, and stream on PBS KIDS in Fall 2022.

“Top Gear” is back Tuesday, November 23 at 10p on BBC America and AMC+. Returning for another spin as hosts are Freddie Flintoff, Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness.

Wales whodunnit “The Pact” is making its US debut Thursday, December 2 on Sundance Now and AMC+. The drama focuses on four brewery workers bound by a deadly secret.

ABC has slotted midseason premieres. Workplace comedy “Abbott Elementary” launches Tuesday, December 7 at 9:30, moving to 9p on January 4 as lead-in to the eighth and final season premiere of “black-ish.” “The Bachelor” is back Monday, January 3 at 8p, with new host Jesse Palmer. Making their winter premieres on Wednesday, January 5 are “The Goldbergs” at 8p, “The Wonder Years” at 8:30p, “The Conners” at 9p and “Home Economics” at 9:30p, followed by the season two launch of “The Chase.” Limited series “Women of the Movement” debuts Thursday, January 6 at 8p, with new drama “Promised Land” arriving Monday, January 24 at 10p.

COMING UP

Holiday-themed film “Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas” premieres Wednesday, December 1 on Roku, picking up where season two of the canceled musical dramedy left off. Both seasons of the show are available to stream on Roku.

“Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson,” the latest film from the series The New York Times Presents, premieres Friday, November 19 at 10p on FX and Hulu. The documentary reconstructs the furor after the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show.

CMT gets in the holiday spirit with two new Christmas-themed music specials premiering Wednesday, December 8: “CMT Crossroads Christmas: Brett Young & Friends” and “CMT’s A Tennessee Kind of Christmas.” “It will be a can’t-miss night of music filled with traditions both new and old alongside amazing renditions of our favorite holiday hits,” said Margaret Comaux, VP of Production at CMT and executive producer.

TNT is hosting a “Star Wars” long weekend November 5-8, with films including the network TV premiere of “The Rise of Skywalker” on Sunday, November 7 at 7:58p.

fuboTV announced it is fully integrated with dentsu international’s M1 people-based identity and data platform. Through M1, advertisers can couple their proprietary custom CRM data with fuboTV’s exclusive first-party addressable data, as well as a reach fuboTV’s cord-cutting audience of sports fans.

Pinterest is launching a shoppable live series, Pinterest TV, on Monday, November 8. Each episode will star a creator from the platform, covering home, food, fashion and more. The show will air M-F at 6p on iOS and Android.

Experiential sport and extreme wellness brand Spartan Race and FAST Studios have partnered to launch SpartanTV, a 24/7 AVOD on XUMO, with additional platforms to follow. Air Force Special Warfare will serve as an anchor sponsor.

Shudder has acquired worldwide rights to supernatural feature “They Live in The Grey,” written and directed by Burlee and Abel Vang (“Bedeviled”). The chiller is set to release in North America, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand in early 2022.

Animated TV series “The Centsables” is now available on Comcast’s Xfinity. The series will be available on VOD on kids channel Kids Street for all Comcast customers with the Xfinity Preferred Package.

Redbox inked a content deal with Fremantle that adds FAST channels BUZZR, The Price Is Right: The Barker Era and Baywatch to the service, starting December 1.

The Association of National Advertisers announced plans to test a cross-media measurement system from advertising software/data company VideoAmp in the US, as part of its Cross-Media Measurement Initiative. The move follows ViacomCBS’ deal with VideoAmp, signed in September, for “alternative currency.”

Fan platform Fandom has launched a customizable video offering allowing fans to create a personalized video experience with TV shows, movies and video games. Fandom Interactive Video allows fans to engage and navigate imagined worlds with customized trailers, and interactive guides and map. “Fandom Interactive puts the fans in control of their online experience, giving them the tools to access the content they personally want, while acting as a guide throughout our expansive wiki platforms,” said Michael Chiang, Chief Business Officer at Fandom. “It also provides a completely one-of-a-kind opportunity for advertisers to deliver meaningful branded content to fans.”

Captify has launched search-powered addressable TV. Through a new partnership with LiveRamp, advertisers can reach audiences based on their search behavior, rather than rely on assumptive data. “Through this new partnership, advertisers can combine an intent-rich dataset like search with the at-home viewing experience, bringing a level of personalization to the living room that improves both the advertising experience for the user and buying efficiency and strategy for the marketer,” said Jay Prasad CSO TV at LiveRamp.

Comscore and Eyeota announced they are bringing their cookie-free contextual targeting system to the Americas and Asia. It’s an expansion of an agreement that has had the companies providing contextual capabilities for B2B Predictive Audiences in European markets since 1Q21. Predictive Audiences is enabled by Comscore’s users panels and AI classification engine, said the companies.

Virtual production content creation company DGene announced its Series A funding round led by Alibaba Group. The company intends to revive older films and TV shows so they can be watched across streaming platforms. “We like to define our AI technology as ‘assisted’ intelligence because it builds upon and enhances creations that only humans can make, saving time and money while delivering a level of quality unmatched by other tools,” said Helena Packer, SVP and General Manager, DGene US. In an upcoming collaboration with film producer Jeff Apple, DGene will use AI-driven characters combined with real-life actors’ performances to feature digital characters who appear lifelike on screen.

Spain-based production, finance and distribution company Palma Pictures (“The Crown,” “Love Island”) has jumped into the business of producing original scripted content. Palma Pictures Studios has optioned a series of novels and is developing a debut slate including “Love, Jack,” a mini-series inspired by the secret love affair between Gunilla Von Post and J.F. Kennedy.

Synchronicity Films (“The Cry”) is partnering with Brazen Productions to develop and produce a fictionalized mini-series based on the upcoming book The Hidden Case of Ewan Forbes: the Transgender Trial that Threatened to Upend the British Establishment, written by Emeritus Professor of Medical Humanities at the University of London Zoë Playdon.

MKMG, an international distributor and producer of video content based in Ukraine, has begun its collaboration with VlogBox with the acquisition of a set of CTV apps including World of Art and Cool Look, among others.

Japan’s Nippon TV has partnered with Netflix to make 30 of its drama series and entertainment shows available outside Japan, all across Asia. The first 15 titles have just started to stream, including hit 2011 drama series “I’m Mita, Your Housekeeper.”

Something Special, the Seoul-based international format agency, announced that they have formed a co-development partnership with media technology company 4DREPLAY to create non-scripted and scripted formats incorporating 4DREPLAY technology, a four-dimensional time slice video production system that creates any-time, any-angle highlights.
