Verizon’s FiOS TV dropped Outdoor Channel from its lineup yesterday. The move follows FIOS’ recent decision to cut sister network Sportsman Channel, The Weather Channel and a handful of other networks from its service.
El Rey Network finalized an acquisition deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution to license exclusive off-network cable rights for all episodes of the series Constantine and Almost Human. Both will debut in November.

CHECK IT OUT HERE!.USA Network and Universal Cable Productions are teaming on the two-hour pilot for supernatural drama The Wilding, from exec producers Tim Kring (Heroes) and writer/creator Silka Luisa (To the Bone), with Ciaran Foy on board to direct. The show centers around the drama of a blended family who are welcoming back their 17-year-old daughter, Kayla after she is released from a mental health institution.
The Happy Peppers, a multicamera comedy about an adult brother and sister who move in together after one of their spouses die, is in development at CBS. Created by Max Mutchnick and Jeff Astrof, the show is from Warner Bros TV, where both have development deals. Mutchnick is exec-producing through his Too Mutch Ink; Astrof is exec-producing through his Barge Productions.
Marty Adelstein’s Tomorrow Studios formed an exclusive development deal with newly minted TV production company Fabrication and its principals, Alexandra Cunningham, Sera Gamble and John McNamara (Aquarius). Projects already underway include several adaptations from books including The Lizard King and Stinger (adapted from Rage Against the Dying), and a reboot of ‘70s classic The Persuaders.
Ten months after tying the knot, four couples from season two of TLC series 90 Day Fiance will share the current status of their relationship in a “Where Are They Now?” episode, airing Sunday, Oct. 4, at 10p.
OWN will premiere Belief, a seven-night television event, on Sunday, October 18, at 8p. Each hour long special, narrated by Oprah Winfrey, depicts how people with a wide range of beliefs search for deeper meaning and connection with the world around them.
VH1 will gather its entire 2015 You Oughta Know class of artists on one stage for VH1 Best Music of 2015: You Oughta Know, airing live from The Armory Foundation in NY on Thursday, November 12, at 9p. Artists slated for the festival-style concert include Hozier, Ella Henderson, George Ezra, Nate Ruess, Rachel Platten, Elle King, Miguel and X Ambassadors. Official show sponsors include Burger King and Trojan Brand Condoms.
The 2015 iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina presented by Sprint will return on November 7, for the first time airing from the American Airlines Arena in Miami and broadcast on Telemundo. Performers on tap include Jennifer Lopez, Don Omar, Marco Antonio Solis and Prince Royce.
Investigation Discovery will premiere domestic violence special Behind Closed Doors: Shocking Secrets on Monday, October 26, at 10p.
ION Television will debut new original series Saving Hope on Tuesday, October 13 at 11p. The show will air each Tuesday as part of a two-hour block featuring back-to-back new episodes, with encore runs on Friday nights. The plot revolves around the Hope Zion Hospital, which is left in chaos when its charismatic chief of surgery falls into a coma and, in the form of a spirit, helps other patients who are also in “limbo.” Created by Malcolm MacRury and Morwyn Brebner, the series is produced by ICF Films, in association with Entertainment One and CTV.
Investigation Discovery has a lineup of new series premiere this month including
crime-scene house tour Hell House on Saturday, October 10, at 9p; Killer Confessions on Tuesday, October 13, at 10p; Todd Robbins re-enactment series True Nightmares on Wednesday, October 14, at 10p; and hotel crime sendup Do Not Disturb on Wednesday, October 21, at 9p.
Event game show 500 Questions, from Mark Burnett and Mike Darnell, will be back next year for a second season on ABC. Produced by United Artists Media Group in association with Warner Horizon Television, the show’s first season finale provided the network with its best summer entertainment performance in its Thursday time period in two years. Burnett and Phil Parsons are the executive producers; Ed Egan is the co-exec producer.
A&E hasn’t forgotten. The network is returning scripted crime drama Unforgettable, revived from CBS, for a fourth season premiering with back-to-back episodes on Friday, November 13, at 8p. New cast members this season include Alani “La La” Anthony, Kathy Najimy and E.J. Bonilla.
E! Entertainment is bringing back plastic surgery series Botched for the second half of season two on Tuesday, October 6, at 9p. The season promises tougher cases than ever for Drs. Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif. The docs and Dubrow’s wife Heather also will host 30-minute, three-ep special Botched: Post Op during the second half of the season.
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has signed on for four additional movies in the Signed, Sealed, Delivered comedic drama franchise, from executive producer Martha Williamson (Touched by an Angel). The next installment, Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Impossible Dream, debuts Sunday, October 4, at 9p. The movies are produced by Muse Entertainment in association with MoonWater Productions.
American Heroes Channel’s original series America: Facts Vs. Fiction will return for a third season with back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, October 6, at 10p. Hosted by former Naval Officer and actor/comedian Jamie Kaler, series uncovers surprising hidden facts behind US history.
Ahead of the October 12, 10p, second season return of Fargo to FX, the Fargo Waffle Wagon is headed to Chicago, Boston and NY beginning today in a promo that also includes tie-ins with local TV stations in cold-weather markets encouraging viewers to keep emergency supplies in their cars. Fargo Winter Survival Kits feature themed blankets, mittens, flashlights, first-aid kits and other items.
Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City) will guest in season two of Showtime drama The Affair. The Emmy-, Tony- and Grammy-winning actress will play couples therapist Marilyn Sanders. Second season is currently in production in NY and will premiere Sunday, October 4, at 10p.
David Schwimmer (Friends) is set to star in Channel 4 sitcom Morning Has Broken. He’ll play an American producer brought in to try and save the floundering show of a once successful media personality played by Julia Davis, who co-wrote the show along with Nick Mohammed. Gary Reich’s Brown Eyed Boy will produce, in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Universal Pictures has created the Universal Kids Productions group, and named longtime Nickelodeon programming executive Teri Weiss as SVP and head of kids/family development and production. The new unit will add to existing content from the studio including the Curious George animated television series, and NBCU will license its owned properties through its dedicated brand-management and consumer-products business. Weiss, a 16-year veteran of Nickelodeon, most recently served as EVP, original programming, for the preschool division.
Cartoon Network is expanding its Stop Bullying: Speak Up curriculum with a campaign creative that focuses on teaching kids positive relationships habits. The network has released TV ads featuring characters from Teen Titans Go!, with new spots featuring the CN Sayin’ kids coming soon. Two interactive apps that offer games and quizzes, and encourage families to take the Stop Bullying: Speak Up Pledge are available on the redesigned website (cartoonnetwork.com/stop-bullying).
Studio 100 Media and Studio 100 Animation signed a co-production and distribution agreement with EuropaCorp Television for new CGI animated series Arthur and the Minimoys. Paris-based Studio 100 Animation will co-produce the with EuropaCorp Television; Studio 100 Media will be the exclusive distributor of the series, which is based on Luc Besson’s children’s book of the same name.

ABC’s The Middle became the first scripted show to build on its premiere this season in Live+SD A18-49, gaining 5 percent this week and hitting its highest rating since January 7.
Ratings for Great American Country hit a four-year high, driven by hit series such as Flea Market Flip, Going RV and Living Alaska. GAC’s P25-54 primetime ratings (M-Su 8p-12A) grew 6% versus last September.
GSN’s third quarter (July-September) was the network’s most-watched quarter in its 20-year history, in primetime and total day in A18-49, W18-49, A25-54 and W25-54. It was also their highest quarter ever in total day with A18-49 and W18-49. The month of September was also the net’s best-ever September, according to Nielsen NPower: Ratings Program Report based on Live plus three data.
Food Network ranked 4th on Wednesday across ad-supported cable networks among A25-54 and ranked #2 among W25-54. The Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition 9p premiere led the night with a .8 rating A25-54 (760K impressions), up 30% versus year-ago.Those elusive Millennials also tuned in, with a .7 rating A25-34 (210K impressions), up +32% versus last year with median age for the night of 45.

At 9p, Empire’s 5.5/17 dominated, followed by an average 2.4/8 for ABC’s Modern Family and black-ish.
