RATINGS

CBS scored with Thursday Night Football. The premiere delivered the net’s largest primetime Thursday audience (19.44 million viewers) since 2007 and its best among A18-49 (6.9 million) since 2006.

Up against football, the season 16 premiere of NBC’s Biggest Loser was down 30 percent in the A18-49 demo from its season 15 launch, to 1.6/5.

Bad news: Ratings for the first Friday airing of Fox’s Utopia dipped to .7 among A18-49, from .9  for its Tuesday ep, and to 1.8 million total viewers from 2.5 million. Good news: In Live+3, the reality show jumped 20 percent from its September premiere, to a 2.4 rating among A18-49.

Tuesday’s Bitchin’ Rides on Velocity scored its highest-rated telecast this year for both P18-34 and W18-34, and was the highest-delivering telecast ever on Velocity in the demos, drawing 113,000 P18-34 and 55,000 W18-34. What’s the appeal to the young crowd? “Dave and his Kindig It Design crew are compelling, real-life craftsman who create handcrafted, one-of-a-kind cars,” Bob Scanlon, Velocity general manager, tells Cynopsis. “His original, eclectic sense of style has really connected with a younger Velocity audience.”

The season five premiere VH1’s Couples Therapy with Dr. Jenn hit a series high.7 rating among A18-49, up 24 percent over last season’s premiere. The episode garnered over 1 million total viewers; combined with a 10:30 PM encore, it was seen by 1.3 million total viewers.
