NEW & RETURNING SERIES
 
Haunted Live, Travel Channel’s first weekly live series, premieres Friday, September 14 at 10p. The Tennessee Wraith Chasers start off in a 19th century house they suspect contains the ghosts of soldiers who died while there in hiding.
 
New food series The Urban Vegetarian premieres on Z Living tonight at 8p. Dietician, author and self-proclaimed “food nerd at heart” Desiree Nielsen hosts.
 
Ten-episode scripted series Queen America, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, launches on Facebook Watch on Wednesday, November 21. Additional cast includes Judith Light (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story), Jennifer Westfeldt (Younger), Victoria Justice (Victorious), Teagle Bougere (A Night at the Museum), Rana Roy (Life Sentence), Isabella Amara (Wilson), Molly Price (Bloodline) and Megan West (This is Us). 
 
A new season of Alaska the Last Frontier launches on Discovery on Sunday, October 7 at 9p, with the Kilcher family celebrating warmer weather, and singer/songwriter Jewel returning with her son.
 
CBS’s Let’s Make a Deal is back for season ten on Monday, September 17 with fan favorite “Zonk Redemption” super-sized from one episode to a week-long event, with formerly “zonked” traders from past seasons given another chance to win – or lose.
 
The lineup for the ninth season of Litton’s Weekend Adventure, ABC’s Saturday morning programming block, will include new addition The Great Dr. Scott, following a vet and his family-run clinic.
 
 
COMING UP
 
The Office will have a new home starting January 1, when the comedy joins Will & Grace and Frasier as part of Cozi TV’s primetime comedy lineup.
 
Now through Halloween, AMC Networks’ streaming service Shudder will premiere a new scary movie every week. Shudder original Revenge will be available starting September 13.
 
Ralph Lauren, Robert Redford and supermodel Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend will among those featured on Sunday’s Best: Celebrating 40 Years of CBS Sunday Morning on Friday, September 14 at 8p. Jane Pauley will anchor the one-hour special.
 
The 54th Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 8p on CBS.
 
The complete lineup for this year’s PaleyFest NY includes OutlanderThe Walking Dead, Drunk History, David Tennant Talks Doctor Who, Good Omens, and Much More, Documentary Now!, Sunday Morning, Murphy Brown: A Conversation with Candice Bergen and Diane English, Shark Tank, The Good Fight, The Conners, and Top Chef. Festival takes place October 5-18.
 
Univision is offering a mash-up of sports and dramedy tonight. On the west coast, a live broadcast of the international soccer match between U.S. and Mexico at 6p will followed by the premiere of Mi Marido Tiene Mas Familia (My Husband Has More Family) at 8p, while East coast viewers will be see the dramedy premiere at 8p, followed by the live soccer match at 9p.  
 
Turner Classic Movies will celebrate the life of Burt Reynolds, who died September 6 at age 82, with a six-film tribute on Wednesday, December 26. First up: 1977’s Smokey and the Bandit at 8p.
 
 
SHORT FORM VIDEO
 
Former VP Joe Biden is set to host ATTN: series Here’s the Deal. Ten-part short form political show premieres tomorrow on IGTV, with episodes landing on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube after a 24-hour window. Biden promises “Not complicated policy wonk language or confusing acronyms, just facts” on issues like health care, jobs and gun violence, ahead of the midterm elections.
 
The 13th Annual NBCUniversal Short Film Festival, celebrating diverse stories while finding the next generation of storytellers, unveiled six original short films, pilots and webisodes as this year’s finalists, chosen from over 3400 submissions. A festival record number of submissions came from women. Screening and awards ceremony takes place October 24 at the Director’s Guild of America in Hollywood.

Facebook advertisers can now review the list of publishers monetizing content through Instant Articles and in-stream videos, and block publishers they want to avoid, as part of an effort to increase brand safety. The people and businesses that use Facebook deserve a safe environment to share and connect,” said Facebook VP of global marketing Carolyn Everson on Monday. “We’ve been working with advertisers to build more controls and we’re taking another step forward today.”
 
ABC Talent and Casting’s annual ABC Discovers: Digital Talent Competition is live now through Monday, September 24. The competition aims to discover and champion actors who may not have had the opportunity to be seen yet by a team of professional casting executives; winner gets a $25,000 talent deal with ABC. A separate UK talent contest is also underway.
 
ABC talker The View is now available as a podcast. Each episode will be available by 4p on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, Spotify, Stitcher and the ABC News app.
 
NBC’s The Voice will debut its first companion series, 10-part Comeback Stage, for its upcoming 15th season. Singer/songwriter Kelsea Ballerini will serve as the companion series’ “fifth coach,” mentoring six artists who auditioned but didn’t make a team. The Comeback Stage will air on platforms including YouTube, The Voice Official app, IGTV, Facebook and NBC.com.
 
Apple is reaching out to newspapers like the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post about contributing stories to Texture, the magazine app it bought in March, reports Recode.net. Texture subscribers can read an unlimited number of stories from magazines for $10/month.

Subaru has released a series of short form spots as part of a new campaign for the 2019 Ascent. The spots offer a look into the lives of three different owners for the three-row SUV, highlighting “family, fun and adventure.” The ads were created by Carmichael Lynch.

Telemundo announced the launch of a nationwide Latino empowerment campaign, Somos El Futuro: The Future Is US. The multiplatform initiative, which will highlight the impact Latinos are having on America’s economic future, social attitudes and cultural trends, while aiming to enhance the Hispanic community’s power through increased civic engagement, is part of Telemundo’s El Poder En Ti corporate social responsibility platform.

David Lambert will reprise his The Fosters role as a guest star on Freeform spinoff, Good Trouble.
 
 
DISTRIBUTION
 
A&E IndieFilms announced Magnolia Pictures has acquired North American rights to Divide and Conquer: The Story of Roger Ailes. The feature documentary about the former chairman and CEO of Fox News will be released by Magnolia on December 7 following a fall festival run; A&E retains television rights to the film.
 
 
GOING GLOBAL
 
9 Story Distribution International acquired worldwide distribution rights to the new 3D animated preschool series Dr. Panda, excluding China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and select rights within MENA. Series is based on the app franchise.
 
ITV Australia is set to produce the Australian version of family variety show Saturday Night Takeaway for Network Ten, while ITV France will produce a new season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here for TF1. And ITV and Twenty Six 03 Entertainment are reuniting reality TV favorites Chris and Kem for a new season of You vs Chris and Kem. The four-part series, will air on ITV2 in 2019.
 
Singapore-based content distribution and production agency Bomanbridge Media announced the global launch of a new factual adventure series with extreme British adventurer, Ash Dykes. Partnering with production house Mandarin FilmInto The Heart Of China: Walking The Yangtze will follow Ash’s attempt at walking the length of Asia’s longest river, the Yangtze, over a period of one year.
 
MTV International greenlit local versions of its hip-hop franchise YO! MTV Raps for the UK, Germany, Southeast Asia and Africa.

FX outlaw biker drama Mayans M.C. premiered to the best ratings of any new cable series this year in every major demo, including A25-54 (2.8 million), A18-49 (2.5 million) and A18-34 (1 million).
 
CBS Sports’ Week 1 coverage of The NFL on CBS on Sunday scored its best opening NFL singleheader rating in three years, earning an average overnight household rating/share of 10.6/22, up +23% from last year (8.6/18) in the metered markets.
 
Opposite NBC’s Sunday Night Football, the Miss America Competition on ABC delivered 4.3 million viewers and .7/3 among A18-49, down 19% in viewers and 36% in the demo, but ranking #1 across all key Women demos.
