“Young Sheldon” is coming to TBS. The network inked a deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution to acquire the CBS comedy. The series will make its syndication debut on the cable network on Monday, September 27 at 5p.

CNN’s Poppy Harlow is going on hiatus. The mid-morning anchor will be pursuing Yale Law School’s one-year Master of Studies in Law, reports Variety. The program is aimed toward people who are not attorneys, but want become more familiar with legal studies, and is open to journalists. Harlow’s last regular day on air will be Friday, August 20.

Lifetime has greenlit four-part mini-series “Flowers in the Attic: The Origin,” starring Jemima Rooper and Max Irons. It’s a prequel to the network’s “Flowers in the Attic” and the V.C. Andrews movie series franchises.
Shudder dives deep into horror film icons from Freddy to Chucky and more in “Behind the Monsters.” The original docu-series will focus on a single character each episode and feature interviews with the writers, directors and actors from the original films. Debut date: Tuesday, October 26.
AMC Networks streamer ALLBLK renewed “Terror Lake.” The show’s second season will pick up two years after the season 1 finale and focus on traveling nurse Deja, the newest tenant at the troubled Freeman Lake Apartments.
Meanwhile, AMC Studios has opened a writers’ room for a possible AMC+ and AMC series based on Anne Rice’s “Lives of the Mayfair Witches.” The project is being developed as part of the AMC’s scripts-to-series model.
HBO Max ordered “Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake” (wt), expanding the Cartoon Network franchise. Produced by Cartoon Network Studios, with Adam Muto serving as showrunner and executive producer, the young adult animated series centers on fearless adventurer Fionna and her magical best friend – talking cat, Cake.
Amazon Studios’ longtime development executive Steven Prinz is shifting gears, inking an overall TV and first-look feature deal with the company. He’ll serve as EP on the second season of anthology horror series “Them” as well as the upcoming Amazon Original series “Paper Girls.” Prinz is also attached as EP on several other projects in development.
Bob Greenblatt, former Chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment, has inked a first-look deal with Lionsgate that calls for him to develop and produce premium TV projects via his new production shingle The Green Room. In addition, Greenblatt has hired Jon Wu as Producer and head of Filmed Content for The Green Room.
Casting Notes: Eminem will guest star on “BMF,” Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s upcoming Starz drama about the Black Mafia Family… Judy Reyes (“Devious Maids”) and Gloria Reuben (“Mr. Robot,” “ER”) will headline the cast of “Torn from her Arms,” Lifetime’s family border separation movie.
WEBTOON has entered a new creative partnership with DC. DC and WEBTOON will collaborate on several upcoming webcomic series in the DC Universe. The deal brings DC’s universe to WEBTOON’s audience of digitally engaged readers.

HGTV and discovery+ are set to debut 20 new series before the year’s end. Among the offerings: On the competition front, Chrissy Metz (“This Is Us”) hosts “Meet Your Makers Showdown,” debuting Saturday, November 27 on discovery+. The show features top artisans testing their creativity and skill in paper art, fluid painting, stained glass and more. Meanwhile, Martha Stewart is back in “Table Wars” to review large-scale party environment created by the country’s best event designers. The series bows Friday, November 12 at 10p on HGTV. On the home renovation and real estate front, “The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project” stars married designers and dads, Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent, helping families moving into a new place by letting go of things they no longer need starting Tuesday, October 5 at 9p on HGTV.
AMC Networks set fall premiere dates for its new and returning series, across AMC, AMC+, Acorn TV, ALLBLK, BBC America, Shudder, Sundance Now, SundanceTV and We TV. Among its new series, “Kin” bows Thursday, September 9 and “Ragdoll” debuts Thursday, November 11 on AMC+, while “Ultra City Smiths” premieres Monday, September 13 at 11p on AMC and AMC+. Also, “Doctor Who” (BBC/AMC+) is scheduled to return for lucky season 13 this fall.
The hidden truths behind the Playboy empire will be revealed in A&E Network’s documentary event, “Secrets of Playboy,” set to premiere in early 2022. The series delves into the world Hugh Hefner created, examining the consequences it’s had on our culture’s view of power and sexuality.
“Great Escapes with Morgan Freeman” bows Tuesday, November 9 at 10p on History Channel. Hosted and executive produced by the Academy Award-winning actor, the eight-episode series delves into breakouts from some of the most notorious prisons in the world.
“Dr. Mercy” joins TLC’s roster of medical transformation shows. Chicago-based dermatologist Dr. Mercy Odueyungo will tackle unique and bizarre skin cases beginning Wednesday, September 22 at 9p on TLC.
CMT tapped hip hop icon Nelly to headline an upcoming installment of “CMT Crossroads.” Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Blanco Brown and BRELAND get in on the action when “Country Crossroads: Nelly & Friends” bows Wednesday, September 1 at 10p.
HBO limited series “Scenes from a Marriage” debuts Sunday, September 12 at 9p. The modern adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s classic Swedish series stars Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain, and examines love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple.
“The Drew Barrymore Show” returns for its second season on Monday, September 13. The nationally syndicated daytime talker will take viewers on the road to Barrymore’s hometown of Hollywood for part one of its two-week-long premiere event.
Fubo Sports Network premieres “Getcha Popcorn Ready with T.O. and Hatch” on Sunday, August 22 at 8p. Hosted by NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens and former NFL wide receiver Matthew Hatchette, the series brings the two friends’ podcast to TV for the first time.
Disney+ debuted the trailer and announced the Japanese and English dub voice casts, which includes Lucy Liu and Neil Patrick Harris, for “Star Wars: Visions” anthology series. From Lucasfilm, it tells new Star Wars stories via the style and tradition of Japanese anime. The series launches on Disney+ on Wednesday, September 22.

With the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks approaching, History Channel is gearing up with seven hours of new documentary programming and a special podcast episode of “HISTORY This Week.” Things kick off on Friday, September 10 with “9/11: The Legacy” at 7p, followed by “Rise And Fall” The World Trade Center” at 8p.
Meanwhile, VICE TV will premiere “VICE VERSA Too Soon: Comedy After 9/11,” a documentary exploring the sudden halt and then rebirth of comedy after the events of September 11, 2001.The special bows Wednesday, September 8 at 9p.
Decades TV Network celebrates the 55th anniversary of “Family Affair” with a Decades Weekend Binge. The marathon event begins Saturday, September 11 at 12p and runs thru Monday, September 13 at 6a.
The Multicultural Media & Correspondents Association has partnered with STARZ and the National Association of Black Journalists to host the inaugural Media Diversity Excellence Awards Reception on Thursday, August 19. The event is designed to honor Black media excellence and highlight the need for increased media diversity.
STREAMING
The Tribeca Channel launched on the Roku Channel on Tuesday, August 17. The new linear channel will stream for free and be available through XUMO and Flex via Tribeca’s distribution and technology partner Giant Pictures.
Meanwhile, Roku and Charter Communications resolved a distribution issue over the Spectrum streaming app that began last December. In a joint statement, the two companies said they had reached “a mutually beneficial agreement” to renew the app on the Roku platform. Hence, the Spectrum TV App is now available for download from the Roku channel store.
Pluto TV has launched six new channels – The Andy Griffith Show, Matlock, Gunsmoke, Britbox Mysteries, Pluto TV Game Shows and Lupin the 3rd. Users can access the happenings in “Mayberry,” mysterious crime cases across the pond and more.
IMDb TV expanded distribution with a launch on Comcast’s Xfinity Flex and Xfinity X1. X1 marks IMDb TV ‘s first pay-TV partner launch.
PBS is offering a collection of streaming content free to audiences via its PBS Video App and PBS.org. Notable programming includes “Lucy Worsley’s Royal History’s Myths & Secrets,” new episodes airing Sunday, September 5 and 12 at 8p; “FRONTLINE: America After 9/11,” airing Tuesday, September 7 at 9p, and “Mohammed Ali,” airing Sunday, September 19 thru Wednesday, September 22 at 8p.

FNC held the largest audience in total viewers and the 25-54 demographic during President Joe Biden’s first address to the nation regarding the Taliban’s takeover, averaging 3.7 million viewers and 634,000 A25-54 from 4-4:30p.
