NBC Sports unveiled its broadcast slate for the upcoming NHL regular season, coming off of the most-watched NHL regular season ever on NBC and NBCSN. This season, the company will offer 103 regular-season games featuring 14 contests on NBC and 89 more on NBCSN. The season begins with an Opening Night doubleheader on Oct. 8 on NBCSN, launching its Wednesday Night Rivalry coverage at 7:30p featuring the Flyers/Bruins followed by the Sharks/Kings at 10p. In addition, the NHL All-Star Game will return for the first time since 2012, with NBCSN covering All-Star weekend on Jan. 24 and 25. NBCSN will offer most games on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights throughout the season and, beginning in January, a Sunday game will be added most weeks.
The Blackhawks will make the most appearances in the national games, with 20. Other teams featured prominently on the schedule docket include the Bruins with 17, Red Wings with 15, Flyers with 16 and Penguins with 19.
FOX Sports booked its fall plans, unveiling studio personalities and game broadcast teams for the upcoming college football season. This year, FOX broadcasts a one-hour prime-time pregame show on Saturdays leading into the biggest game of the week. Rob Stone hosts beside analysts Joel Klatt and the incoming Dave Wannstedt. Gus Johnson once again teams with analyst Charles Davis as the lead college football broadcast team and will be joined by sideline reporter Molly McGrath, who continues as co-host of FOX Sports 1’s America’s Pregame. Meanwhile, Joey Harrington will be joined by Joe Davis with Kris Budden on the sidelines. Tim Brando will call Thursday night games on FOX Sports 1 with Klatt serving as analyst, and is also in the booth on Saturdays. Craig Bolerjack teams with analyst Ryan Nece. FOX Sports kicks off the action Aug. 28 at 10p on FOX Sports 1 with Rutgers/Washington State.
Pac-12 Networks also revealed talent assignments for the 2014 college football season. Coverage will see Nick Aliotti, who served as a guest analyst on the Networks’ 2014 spring football coverage, begin his first full season as a studio analyst and contribute to Pac-12 Football Weekly, as well as pregame, halftime and postgame shows, joining Rick Neuheisel, Ronnie Lott, Curtis Conway, Jake Plummer, Glenn Parker, Yogi Roth and Anthony Herron.
