ADVERTISING

Kantar has launched a new service, Kantar Activate, integrating consumer insights and behavior with behavioral shopper and media data. “Advertisers and agencies will be able to leverage what consumers believe, what they value, and the underpinnings of why they buy what they buy, to build audiences that can power highly targeted and accurate advanced advertising,” said Katie Casavant, who will serve as CEO of Kantar Activate while retaining her role as CEO of Shopcom.

Viagra, which spent over $30 million on pro football ads last season, will likely be sitting on the sidelines this year, reports AdAge. With Pfizer is losing its patent exclusivity and generic versions of the little blue pill on the way, it doesn’t make business sense to invest so heavily in advertising. Fellow ED product Cialis will lose its exclusive status during the season.

Citing a “difficult time for the agency holding companies” amid media fragmentation, Pivotal Research Group’s Brian Wieser informed analysts PRG had revised valuations of the sector. “With reduced price targets, we continue to rate each of them ‘Hold,’” said Wieser. “While we continue to expect growth for agencies, challenges that became much more visible by the middle of last year are likely to compress expansion in years ahead vs. prior expectations.”

Georgetown Cupcake is taking a bite out of Shark Week, airing on Discovery the week of July 23, with the “2017 Shark Week Dozen,” available in locations nationwide. Meanwhile Cold Stone Creamery is offering creations like “Great Bite” and “Deep Sea Delight.” Other partners include conservation group Oceana, Southwest Airlines, Marriott, and Live Love Polish, purveyors of “Shark Skin” nail polish, among others.

Social influencers, including singer Ne-Yo, will boost the effort in a Facebook Live session this morning. “We want to connect with shoppers in a meaningful way this Prime Day, so we chose a platform that would allow us to interact in real time,” Andrea Zahumensky, North America Baby Care Brand Director for P&G, told Adweek.
