Among the crowd at year 6 of VidCon will be Katie Couric; the event is held at the Anaheim Convention Center from July 23-25. At the mega online video gathering, Couric will interview BuzzFeed Motion Pictures President Ze Frank onstage July 23. The convention consists of two sections: the industry track, expected to attract 2,000 professionals; and the community track, which should lure more than 17,000 fans. Brothers Hank and John Green founded VidCon in 2010.
 
Netflix
unveiled the release dates for its upcoming slate of original films, including the first of four Adam Sandler movies. The Ridiculous Six from Sandler will debut on Dec. 11; Beasts of No Nation will premiere on Oct. 16; Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday from Judd Apatow and Paul Ruebens is set for March 2016; and the fourth film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend is set for Q1 2016.
 
You better believe it: 25-year-old Felix Kjellberg, known to fans as PewDiePie, earned $7 million last year. The gamer and top YouTuber (37 million subscribers) records himself playing video games, with his latest vid garnering 1.5 million views in 18 hours. In July 2014, he confirmed to a Reddit audience that he took home approximately $4 million in 2013. The new figure was originally reported in the Swedish newspaper Expressen; Kjellberg has not yet confirmed the article.
 

NEW PROGRAMMING + DEALS

 
Showtime
’s streaming service went live on Hulu yesterday. In the first deal of its kind for a premium cable channel, nine million paying Hulu subscribers can now opt to add the service to their existing $7.99/mo subscription for an extra $8.99/month. Without the Hulu sub, the Showtime app costs $10.99 by itself.
 
Univision Digital
is diving into its Digital Summer Splash program, featuring original content across platforms UVideos, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Series El Verano Gordo, Mi Mundo Con Mia and Más Que Sexy will give fans behind-the-scenes access, as well as previously unseen footage of Univision celebs and shows.

Popcornflix
, a free movie and TV streaming service, reached the milestone of 15 million downloads. The ad-supported service recently kicked off its Extreme Sports programming vertical with eight series including Wild Spirits (currently broadcast on NBC Universal Sports), Wild Spirits H2O, Wild Surf, Better than Four, fighting series Hard Knocks and Ultimate Combat Experience. Popcornflix is available on Roku, Sony PlayStation PS3 and PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Amazon Fire TV, iOS, Android, as well as Smart TVs.
 
Evolve Media’s men’s lifestyle publisher CraveOnline Media will host its second annual Comic-Con event, Crave Escape, aboard San Diego’s USS Midway on July 10. Whipclip raised more than $40 million in the initial closing of its Series C financing led by Eminence Capital, LP. Whipclip is a mobile platform that allows consumers to legally create and share their own video clips of TV and music vids; it will use the new funding for product development, operations and content partner relationships. Additional participants include existing investors Institutional Venture Partners and Raine Ventures. As part of the financing agreement, Eminence Capital will join the Company’s Board of Directors.
