IN THE NEWS

It’s a wrap, again, for Will & Grace. The series will end with its upcoming season (the reboot’s third) in 2020. “When NBC had the opportunity to reconnect this amazing cast and creative team, we jumped at the chance,” said George Cheeks and Paul Telegdy, Co-Chairmen, NBC Entertainment. “The impact and legacy of Will & Grace simply can’t be overstated, both as a true game-changer in the portrayal of the LGBTQ community and as one of the finest comedies in television history.”

“We think of the Will & Grace’ reboot episodes the way Karen Walker thinks of martinis – 51 is not enough, 53 is too many,” said executive producers Max Mutchnick, David Kohan and James Burrows. “That is why, after consulting with the cast, we all have decided this will be the final season of Will & Grace.” NBC revived the comedy in 2017.

Nick Lachey (98 Degrees) will host Nickelodeon’s upcoming music competition seriesAmerica’s Most Musical Family, with Grammy winner Ciara, digital sensation David Dobrik and singer/songwriter/actor Debbie Gibson onboard as judges for the show. The net announced the lineup Thursday at TCA, and although the series isn’t slated to debut until the fall, Cynopsis got a preview from its talent squad. “My initial thoughts were, How did no one ever come up with this concept before now?” said Lachey. “It’s such a great, no-brainer concept. I wish I had come up with it myself.” Gibson says her own early competitions give her perspective. “I got rejected from Star Search literally seven times singing my original songs,” recalls the “Only in My Dreams” singer.  “I feel like every experience I ever had, whether it was a nurturing one or one where I was simply rejected, has toughened me up.” For more, go to Cynsiders.

BritBox is significantly expanding its programming roster with several new originals, live events and the addition of some beloved UK programs, announced BritBox President Soumya Sriraman at TCA.
